How to clean stainless steel cookware factory polish residue?

For brand new stainless steel cookware, if you run a kitchen towel or tissue over the edge or even the smooth surface, you can wipe off some gray color or charcoal color polish residue, you know what I'm talking about. Especially, at the edge, it is hard to clean them off completely. Don't know whether they are bad to your health. Anything that can clean them off completely and easily?

WD40 is great for cleaning stainless steel. Brings it up a treat and removes fingerprints and marks.
Hope this helps

Second the WD40...then buy yourself a set of e-clothes...no chemicals required just the clothes and fab shiny stell, glass...whatever you use them on really.
