Allie sounds a bit like me dropping an open bottle of nail polish on the bedroom carpet :( I didn't even bother to attempt to clean it knowing it would end up looking worse than if I'd left alone grrrrr

Yup - it's a cheap nylony carper as well so you can imagine what a mess the iron was though I've managed to clean that.

As it happens a similar incident occured with the iron on the same carpet (though it wasn't me that time ;)) a while ago and we had a rug to cover it. However the two marks are too far apart for the rug to cover them both, hence the requirement for a new one!

Nail varnish on carpet - grrrrrr!

Hi chums well just got home from DDs.Did all my rushing around this morning Dentist for DGS then got remaining boob mashed in my mammogram, didn't even have to wait the lovely lady said results would be sent to Drs in due course so itsound positive .Last two years I had to wait to make sure all was well so fingers crossed.
This afternoon I took the three youngest DGS and DGD to Chatham Dockyard DGD works there part time during the holidays so she has a freedom pass so it didn't cost anything for the boys and I,Boys loved the Robot exhibits and had a good clamber over some of the boats and a mosey round the black submarine thats there on display.Got back to Dds around 5.30 and she insisted I stay to dinner as she had made extra so have had a delicious chicken curry and rice so I'm feeling fairly full at the moment.Blooming chilly wind blowing here in Kent tonight so I have just put the CH on for an hour to warm up a bit.If it rains tomorrow I will take the boys to see Rio at the cinema.Son-in laws job is looking a bit dicey at the moment as the KCC are having a big reorganisation which is worrying. He has been there for 22 years but no one is immune these days from redundancy.Still we live in hope.
I hope you all have had a good day and are enjoying having the children home from school, I know I am.Its great being a Granny as its like being a Mum all over again without the worry.Tonight I sat with the youngest and we coloured and glued a Robots mask made out of empty weetabix boxes. even though the kids like computer games ect they still like glueing and painting and making stuff (so do I ) I think I am having my second childhood :):):)
Right off for a read of my library book.
Good night God bless all here

    Evening everyone

B/bird - have only just caught up with the thread, hope you got the info re MrA price guarantee, someone else (I can't remember who) has posted how you find it - if you struggle give me a yell, a bit fiddly to start off with, but worth the effort - even if it only gives you a couple of quid back each week, it's better in your pocket and it will keep the supermarkets on their toes!

    Kind regards

    Hi all,

Was sure I had posted to-day but nothing there....what am I like...don't answer that Jackieg!

Doctor's visit this morning to renew OH's and my prescription....locum doctor suggested she take my blood pressure, fine as usual but she is sending me for cholesterol and all sorts of tests, will go to small local hospital in the morning and get it over with, haven't had those tests for about 6 years so maybe time again! We then went to Avoca for a lovely breakfast......mmmm

Went to see a cousin who will be 80 next month, had 2 strokes 3 years ago, wasn't expected to live then, but has fought back...his balance is now shot and he falls frequently, has stayed in bed since last fall on Saturday....is driving his wife (82) and family mad as wants things done NOW and his way...so sad as he was always a very active man, now he reminds me so much of my father in the last couple of years of his life, and makes me miss him all over again.

Second last swimming lesson to-night and I am pleased with my progress....not aiming for the 2012 Olympics but at last I can swim...not very far or fast but I can do it! Am a bit disappointed that I can't go straight on to another set of lessons to 'consolidate' but will be away for 3 out of six weeks of the next set of lessons so not worth signing up for them, will have to wait for the following lot and not sure if they run during the summer....will just have to make sure I get to the pool to practice at least twice a week.

We didn't have a dinner as such to-night, breakfast was so big that we just had some smoked mackerel and avocado with salad and brown bread....nice and healthy.

Hugs to all in need or want....memory has gone

    Marie

Just watched the recording of the scrimper programme....nothing new for OS people but thought that maybe it is now coming down to real people, so will watch it again.
