Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 13th April 2011. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good morning everyone. Looked for the thread but couldn't find it, so hope I haven't double started!
Grey and cool here at the moment.
My visitors have gone home
I shall be stripping beds and hoping the rain will hold off so I can dry them on the line.
Dinner tonight will be something with chicken for just 3.
I must have a good go at the kitchen. Cooking for 12 makes quite an impact! But I mustn't moan as I love having our 3 all here together
Lots of our seedlings are looking very healthy and the potatoes, onions and garlic are all showing us where they are planted. The spinach has put on a great spurt with all this sun. I shall be using a lot today
Happy Wednesday peeps. Hugs for those in need or who want.
Cheers m'dears, Silver xOutside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

Good Morning Silvermaid & all who cross & follow.
Hubby has been dropped at the station with his packup, fish fed & breakfast eaten.
I didn't manage to post yesterday as I was too busy, DD had car problems on Monday, the AA took over 3 hours to get to her, despite her being a priority having 3 children under 5 with her, it then took them 7 hours to get her home!
Tea last night was leftover chicken made into a pasta sauce with some ham & mushrooms, the carcase has been frozen as I'm going to be to busy to make soup. Tonight hubby will have a pork chop with chips & beans & I shall have beans on toast.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning Silver and all to follow,
Looks like the weather is on the turn here
bit gloomy looking, I do hope that was not out summer :rotfl:
Off to work today, will have a quick swish and swipe in the kitchen before i go, will ask dd to hoover and tidy lounge. We worked out yesterday that dd has 22 days more at school, and thats it, finished , it only seems like yesterday I dropped her off for her first ever day
Chicken fried rice for dinner tonight, need to stop and get some eggs on the way home.
We went for a lovely walk yesterday, about 5 miles, and sat on a hill with a picnic, got a bit cool at times, but it was so lovely, little dog entertained a couple of walkers who were also having lunch, by chasing non existent rabbits :rotfl:
OK better get on, have good days all
Jackie O good luck for today xx0 -
Good Morning All!
Its a lovely day today here in Oz, its not hot, just warm with the sun shining. Had a little bit of rain overnight which is great for the garden.
I think that I may have turned the corner in my battle with depression. I dont want to tempt fait but Im feeling a little better. I have been throwing myself into learning new cookery skills and that has given me a new focus. Fingers crossed it continues.
So today so far Ive done 3 loads of washing, cleaned the kitchen and lounge room. Im making sushi for my husband to take to work for lunch tomorrow (made it for the first time yesterday and it worked out reall well!) Im also making prawn toast and chinese beef curry for dinner after finding loads of tips on the net as to how to make the beef melt in your mouth and im prep-ing chicken tikka for tomorrows dinner.
Im really loving cooking right now
Oh and ive successfully avoided a huge pile of ironing lol thats a job for another day.
Have a great day everyone

Morning All,
Pixie lovely to see you posting, fingers crossed for you that everything is is moving in the right direction.xx
Weather is grey and drizzly here this morning. We are at home, until who knows when, as OH is waiting for a parcel to be delivered today, its the XBox which he got as a free offer with his phone for the boys' Christmas - the company was OOS and we've been waiting all this time. They did get other things at Christmas, and never really missed it (they have an older version which they can't use to go online etc, so that will be going to the game shop to be traded in tomorrow along with various other bits and pieces taking up space here)
Today I am doing to clean my livingroom windows in a bit, and then my plan is to go upstairs and tackle the playroom / DS1's bedroom, and not stop until it is finished. I need to get it finished this week for him, and my lovely sister is coming to help me paint it on Friday, so it needs to be cleared. Quite where its all going to go is anyone's guess. Tonight I will take the boys to see their gran. Feel guilty, we haven't seen her since Mothers' Day, but then again, she hasn't picked up the phone to us, when I know she phones her other grandchildren weekly. I do need to make more of an effort though, the boys are missing her, kick up the bum for me, for that!
Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all!
WM is on but looks a tad damp again. Will have a quick tidy and will need to take DS for something to put on his feet for his college interview on Monday, don't think smelly trainers or baseball boots will be very smart!
Have a good day!RIP Iain

Morning All!
Brr it's cold today!:o Going out later to get plants for my new garden.:T
The man who is doing it has nearly finished. It looks amazing! Basically it is slabbed, with raised beds for flowers and veg, plus an arbour and trellis. So much easier for me to deal with. Last year I was really depressed about it, because I couldn't keep on top of it. This year will be a joy!:j:j It has cost quite a lot, but it won't have to be done again, thank goodness.
Wedding plans for DD are going well. Most things organised or bought now.
Got my birthday pressie from OH this morning. I think (hope) he has bought me a Kindle from Amazon:T I was dead against them at first ( That's because I spent 20 years as a a Librarian!) but after reading reviews and seeing one his business partner has it made sense. Will take it on holiday this year without all those books cluttering up my suitcase!
Anyway, have a good day all, got to make more tea for the workmen!
I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Morning All
Pixie glad your feeling better hun. We are moving to Autsralia next year whereabouts are you?
HH don't even get me started again about cars, very sore subject at the minute. The guy who towed us off the motorway yesterday for £80 says he does around ten a day:eek: think we are in the wrong business, might buy a tow truck:cool:
BB its a bit like that chez julie at th moment, why doesn't he understand that sometimes all I want is a cuddle nothing else:o
Anyway a bit overcast here, DS3 is off to a revision session at school so a quick swish around and then a shower. Need to have a go with my new straighteners but don't have to go anywhere really and probably better if I don't as I will just spend money we don't have:o
Need to move DS3 into the box room so that we can decorate his room before my eldest son comes home from Australia with his GF at the end of May. Will probably do that tonight when DH gets home as some heavy stuff to move.
Have no idea whats for tea. Will go and root around the freezer.
Have good days all xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.
