A possibly very nice DTD find here. I posted the one with the Finest/Extra Special chorizo and that worked a treat.

What do people reckon about these?

    http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=264842666

    http://groceries.asda.com/asda-estore/search/searchcontainer.jsp?trailSize=1&searchString=smoked+salmon&domainName=Products&headerVersion=v1&_requestid=41049

Both the same weight and comparable range.

    £3.69 at Tesco
£2.22 at ASDA, so DTD would be £2.94. Net Cost of 75p for 100g of good smoked salmon.

If this works, I'll be living off this for a while :D

[STRIKE]The devil [/STRIKE]Tescos makes work for idle hands on mysupermarket.com :rotfl:. That'll teach them (hopefully ;))

  • I went to Tesco this aft and bought 6 of the Cadbury's dairy milk treasure eggs as the SEL said £2.00, the caramel and mini egg ones SEL said £2.00 or £3.00 for 2. When I checked my receipt the dairy milk ones are actually going through as 3 for £4.00 even though this is not stated on the SEL.

I'm tempted to buy the leg of lamb but have no idea how I'd cook it?!

How are you guys cooking it? How many does an average leg of lamb feed?

Put it in a covered roaster or large roasting dish which you can cover with foil. (might need to use a hacksaw to cut the knuckle end off if its too big for the tin). Make little cuts all over with a sharp pointed knife and push in bits of rosemary. Cover with a layer of redcurrant jelly mixed with a bit of mustard OR use a jar of redcurrant glaze from M&S. Cut up a couple of onions into chunks and put round the meat. Pour in half a pint or so of white wine, cider or apple juice. Cover with foil or the lid and cook long and slow (160 for about 4 hours. Remove cover and cook for another 30 mins. Use the juice and onions to add your your gravy.

One of the Tesco legs (around £18 - £20 ) does DH and me for 3 meals each - and DH the has a good go at whats left on the bone! With plenty of veg a leg would serve 6/7 adults generously.

Has anyone got a sensible answer from Customers Services, regarding the delay to the vouchers? When they are expecting the situation to be resolved?

Rub all over with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
Wrap in foil and cook for required time.
Half an hour before it finishes cooking, open up the foil to allow the joint to colour.
I also make small slits in the joint and insert slices of garlic and rosemary, but that is personal preference.

I would also suggest purchasing a meat thermometer, because then you will never overcook or undercook a joint of meat. Perfect every time!!!!
