Really ..........what are Tesco going to do if they find you have abused the promo and gotten 10 packs of pork sausages cos you were greedy??

All this talk of emails, cookies, subtefuge and paranoia is really silly, just get on with your DTDing and remember it is Tesco who are the bigger crooks!

I hope all those who are admitting to making up email addresses in order to fraudulently obtain goods to which they are clearly not entitled are not posting from their home. If you are posting from your home you are NOT anonymous just because you made up a user name and used an email address which can't be linked to you when you registered for the MSE site. If Tesco decided to take action (i.e. pursue someone for fraud) after your written "confession", and you made the posting from your home, then all the police would have to do is make 2 phone calls - 1 to the MSE site to get the IP address of the poster and then 1 to the poster's ISP to find out who was using that IP address at the time the "confession" was made. You would then be "outed", full name and address etc.

The poster that said they had made up a new email address every day and did 5 shops/day to obtain 5 vouchers/day is the sort of thing I'm talking about. Very careless talk.

    Be Wise!!

I am not flaming or encouraging a heated debate...

Its not as simple as the police calling MSE or your ISP. Something in this country called the Data protection act. A court order would be required. and TBH it would be a civil matter not a criminal matter.
Clearly they [Tesco] found it hard to make a promise they couldn't keep." Asda Spokesperson.

I say Tesco found it EASY to make promises it still cannot keep.

DTDsearcher - when they said that the value of the voucher didn't match a previous one to that email address is that because your vouchers are all for different amounts - ie not the full whack £20 each?
I'm just wondering if they are actually following the specific voucher (most scarey scenario) or rather that you used a (for example) £16.73 voucher and had only ever received £17.xx and £18.xx vouchers to the particular email account?
My vouchers these days are all £20 so I'm not sure that they can distinguish between £20 on any email account if you see what i mean??

Anyone else have thoughts on this?

are you sure about that amount? ;)

Please let's not go down the Fraud line again. Tesco are advertising that they are cheaper than Asda - which simply is false. At least 1000 items (most not on the Tesco Spreadsheet) would confirm this.

In order to make the general public believe this is in fact true they have opened a promotion, were they agree to pay DTD if you find a product, that is cheaper at Asda.

Individuals are exploiting this. They also say that they will only pay out upto £100 a month - if they choose to pay more, that really is upto them. It would take 5 minutes for Tesco to add extra security to this promotion. They have chosen not to.
Sorry, where in my post did I say not to do this? I said not to TALK about it. Big difference.

There is one thing Tesco could do to stop every single one of our claims immediately.

MAKE THEIR PRICES CHEAPER THAN ASDA!!!

    Wolf Blass buying tomorrow.

    Yellow Label Cabernet Sauvignon

    and yellow label Chardonnay

    Both these good to go?

If you're buying the CS, be very careful you don't pick up Shiraz by mistake. It looks almost identical.

We went for some CS this evening, and again, the shelves were empty. But a bit of a root behind the shiraz revealed two bottles hidden right at the back!
