I had a lovely trout today. I had 2 baskets of DTD items and asked her to scan them separately as one was for someone else. She clocked the voucher and said she didn't know about them, so she called the supervisor over stating that they had to be used at customer services. Once the supervisor told her that you just scan them and put the amount in she reluctantly continued. She then noticed I had used a coupon to pay for the last shop so over comes the supervisor again, who informs her that this is o.k. I pay the extra 30p :) and put the next basket through as she's grumbling that this shouldn't be allowed, she then decides that I should be buying the same items that were on the voucher receipt so she calls the supervisor again (funny how she knew nothing about the voucher but suddenly seemed to know all the T's&C's!). By now the supervisor is looking annoyed and I'm getting fed up so I say to the SA that maybe she should read the memo's from head office so that she would know what to do next time!
When she scanned the 2nd voucher she started getting flustered and said 'sorry it won't go through, you'll have to go to customer services'. She called the supervisor again and was grumbling saying that she hopes Tesco's pull this promotion soon as it's ridiculous! The supervisor agreed but told her in a stern voice that it is not the customers fault that Tesco had cocked up this promotion!! :)
I headed over to customer services who apologised for her trout like behaviour and put the rest of my shopping through without batting an eyelid.
I think this promotion has brought to light how badly trained some of the staff are and how they are seriously lacking in customer relations. Maybe once it's over Mr T should look at training staff to be polite and friendly to the customers who (usually) pay their wages.

Just take some mischievous kids, who are a total distraction and cause mild mayhem, the SA's dont bat an eyelid as they want you out rather quickly.

Worked a treat for me today, my 3 kids were absolute devils, in a nice way, they even blagged all the vouchers for schools of all the passing shoppers, by asking them if they needed them and if not could they have them for their school, thy gained 30 of em.
:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!

shame they cant be frozen or i'd get a freezer full :p

There's nothing to say that they can't be frozen. i have one in my freezer right now. Worst case is the base will be a bit soggy or crispy. I'm sure it will still be nice!

With this she called over the store manager:eek: who then went on to say that Tesco have made a new policy of keeping the receipts as their is alot of duplication of vouchers going on and will continue keeping them until they figure out a new system to stop it........

So, are we saying that Tesco have no idea if somebody is simply re-inputting an old receipt time and time again to gain more DTD vouchers?

For those asking about doing this in Metro stores, the T&Cs have actually changed and now say:

    16. Only Tesco Extra, Superstore and Metro formats are included. Products purchased in an Express, Petrol Filling Station or Homeplus store are not included in the Tesco Price Check.

So should be fine to use Metro, just not Express :)

i don't understand this though, surely all they have to do is write on them DTD VOUCHER CLAIMED or scribble all over the reciept numbers at the bottom or something then thats that receipt can't be used agian?

    Spreadsheet Update

Think there is a typing error on these as prices dont add up.

take the slices of tomato off and put fresh on when you want to cook?
