Well, not heard anything regarding the ticket yet - dunno how long that'll last for though.

    I'll keep ya posted. :D
  • I am also going through this. Received a ticket for parking in disabled spot near homebase as they have no loading bay, trying to load 10ft worktop in the rain, parked in nearest spot to main door.
Got a parking ticket, but had borrowed daughters car.

She is happy for me to not pay but letters now from Roxburghe demanding payment etc.

Just ignore Roxburgh. They are a toothless bunch of debt collectors.

i have had a badge for years. the thing that really gets me is the people who think that they are experts on who is or is not disabled. now the op should not have parked there but they did and its history. if the op was charged for using a disabled bay how does the parkie know that the op does not have a serious disability. the op should not pay as with all the other dodgy parking tickets. however a small donation to a charity that is collecting would be a good way of making up for being such a very naughty person.

Very good point well made. :T

It's unusual for someone with a Blue Badge to post in the positive way you did - quite right, how could a PPC goon possibly know if a car parked in a disabled bay had a disabled driver or passenger, seeing as the BB scheme does not apply on private land?

And apart from that, seeing as Homebase sell very bulky items they certainly need provision for a customer to load said item.

Either way, everyone can just ignore private parking 'tickets' as they are just a money-making scheme; nowt to do with 'parking' nor to do with 'tickets'. It's just an unwanted flyer on the windscreen like any other unsolicited rubbish.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

PPC's and Disabled motoring UK [Mobilise] with their bay watch have actually got it wrong. They have signs up saying blue badge holders only, so if chav Jimmy borrows grannies blue badge he can park in a disabled bay as he is "holding" the blue badge.
The car park attendant, invoice issuer has no power to check the identity on the blue badge, so chav Jimmy can park someone with a disability but no badge cant???

There is a new Tesco near us huge underground car park [no ppc] doesnt mention blue badges, has the bays marked out in the usual way for disabled and parent and child. simply has a sign in front of each bay saying! For the benefit of those that need them. Please respect disabled/parent and child bays.
  • Thanks everyone for your responses just returned from hols and now got another letter from Roxburgh and now one from Graham White, tempted to ignore now as can't be bothered putting pen to paper anymore !!

    Any thoughts ?

BTW wife recently ran Marathon and raised £700 for local hospice so hope that compensates for our minor parjing indiscretion :j

Yes, keep ignoring these clowns. You are contributing something good to society, unlike the leeches that infest the private parking "industry"

yes thats well done on your wifes part. however you need to run the next one or we are coming to get you.
being serious i wonder how much of the money they get from mugs/evil nasty motorists that pay for parking in a disabled bay goes to disability charities.
At a guess i think your wife has probably paid oh 700 more than the entire ppc's.

    so well done your wife

but your still a very naughty boy and to prove it you must send me a big bag of money by return of post or they may find you with wheelchair tracks all over you.

    being serious just ignore.
  • Thanks everyone, will just file these latest letters under B then and see what happens !
