not required to report it to any one NO DAMAGE NO INJURY.
the person didnt want to stop its probably because he didnt feel it.0 -
I wouldn't worry about it.
I did the same thing a couple of weeks ago to some guy in a brand new Merc. He pulled up, looked at his bumper, confirmed there was no damage, thanked me for stopping and we were on our way.
So the chances are the person driving the car you tapped probably didn't notice anything.0 -
No legal reason to report this at all. I didn't even feel the bump:rotfl:0

You are legally obliged to report an accident under these circumstances. It's the job of the police to record it. This happens all the time (although usually deliberate drive-offs). It is irrelevant that the OP has no details of the other vehicle. That's precisely why the law says that you must report it, so that the police can cross-check the reports. You scullion! Not really, modern bumpers are so flexible they usually bounce back, it takes quite a whack to even crack the paint.Trev. Having an out-of-money experience!
C'MON! Let's get this debt sorted!!0 -

How do you know that the driver hasn't already reported to the Police that you were in an accident and failed to stop and exchange details? If you fail to report it, his side of the story will look more believable.
As far as i was aware you only have to report it to the police if someone is injured at the scene.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -
Wouldn't worry about it, unless something comes of it. Have seen plenty of minor bumps- Police will have no interest unless injury, insurance will have no interest unless damage.0

This is a beautiful story and demonstrates just what bumpers are for. Ding, no damage, lets get on with life.0

I was sitting at a roundabout, and the bumper on my car made contact with the bumper of the car in front of me - I'm relatively sure it was my car that nudge his, since I don't remember seeing it rolling backwards.
I'm a bit confused.... "sitting" implies you weren't moving - and you don't think the other car was moving backwards - so did you really just not notice that your car was moving forward? Good job no pedestrians were crossing between the two cars...
..and do you not try and leave a good gap when you stop? I was always taught "tyres and tarmac" by my instructor - which has helped me out a good many times, when the car in front has broken down, stalled, decides to stop and chat to someone etc etc...
More on topic, I was bumped from behind like this once - dappy moo was too busy putting on her makeup to notice her car rolling forward in traffic, anyway I knew it wasn't hard enough to do any harm and it wasn't a very convenient place to stop, so I just carried on and forgot about it...0 -
It's happened to me on at least two occasions. Both times I was driving a shed so couldn't be bothered to make a fuss. Life's too short.0
