Sorry haven't posted much, life and a teething baby (i think) have taken over. Doing bits where I can but tend to be going out at lunchtime as more chance of him napping then.

Also having probs with our neighbours, had to call the police last night as teenager banging to get in for an hour from 10pm, mum seemed to be in but not letting him in. Not sure whether to call social services too as it can't be right and seems to happen a lot according to the lady who runs the shop below their flat. any advice - triker or others?

soappie - asked re my job. end of contract and isn't being renewed cos of cuts. which is both good (no long commute) and bad (not much work out there, no motivation to look and dh hassling me about it).

arwenelf- hugs, think I was borderline pnd too for a while and I still find the difficult days really hard as I have no real support here :(. Just do what you can, one day at a time. come over to the parents thread too it's quiet at the moment but a lovely bunch of people. xx

  • Good moring everyone!

Today is my first flylady day, and so far I've put the WM on, declutered the wallway, and done another 400 words on a uni essay.

    Today's to do list:

    Mop bathroom floor
    Wipe over the sink
    Clean the loo
    Clean the bath

I'm working this evening, but only til 10 (if it's not too busy... I won't turn down extra hours if they are available ;)) so when I get home I'll try to spend half an hour sorting the study floor.

Although it will definitely need more than half an hour :o. At least it's a start!

Thank you all for your inspiration, I think flylady is going to be just what I need to get on top of everything!

I hope you all have a great day!

    Morning all

I've done the bathroom/toilet today. Yesterday I did the bedrooms, all quite low level because of the amount of stuff everywhere and continuing dust but it's keeping on top of things a bit. I also did some dusting downstairs and did the computer desk then.

Tomorrow I'll do another load of hand washing I think, doesn't look like the washing machine will be back in by then. It's tiling today and apparently flooring tomorrow. We'll see.

I've been getting the american flylady emails for ages and maybe doing the odd bits - I have at least got into the habit of making my bed as soon as I get out of it. But this thread has just been fantastic for getting me to start getting on top of things. I just wish the loft room would appear on the list sometimes as nearly everything is just decluttered to up there and it is becoming unuseable:rotfl: - its meant to be my craft haven but has turned into my room of doom:(:(:(:(

Just do little bits here and there - some people carry jobs over to the next few days, but I find that a bit overwhelming so I start each day afresh with the new list that way I don't get bogged down in feeling like I've failed to achieve.

Your loft room sounds very much like my study! :rotfl:

It is a total tip, and the dumping ground for all of the things I've meant to do for ages but still not done... But, there is a clear path to the desk. Although the desk is also covered in mess so it's not that useful at the moment! I've taken to doing uni work in the living room so I don't have to see the mess... :o

I think little and often sounds like a good plan to tackle everything. I just need to get through to the middle of May and then I've finished uni for the year. I've already set aside two days in my diary for a major sort out and spring clean.

I hope you do manage to get your loft room sorted though, it would be lovely for you to have your craft room back! :)

Ooh, yes please! I think I can get the bathroom sorted in half an hour, and maybe even do more that I have been putting off!
