Help with booking seats on Jet2 website.

We are due to fly next weekend with Jet2 and I just thought I'd have a look at the plane layout today.

I noticed on the page to book seats there are only 3 seats left together and these are emergency exit seats or extra leg room seats, both these state you have to be over 16 to occupy.

My DD is 12, are there seats available elsewhere on the plane to be allocated to us when we check in at the airport? We have never prebooked seats before but I just noticed this when looking today.

Hope someone can help.

Unless you have pre-allocated you seats already (and paid the relevant fee), the seats will be allocated to you when you check-in although there is no guarantee that you will be sat together.

What they won't do however is separate your daughter - you would be given two seats together and one seat elsewhere if three seats aren't available.

It just seems strange that the only seats available online are for over 16's.

We never pre-book, I don't like to pay the extra :rotfl: but just wondered what would happen if the only seats available were for over 16's.

I thought with jet2 you could pick your seats when you booked ?

You can but it's £3.99 each person each way. We don't mind if we're split up when flying so never pay this and just get allocated seats at the airport. I was just confused as noticed the only seats available now are for over 16s and DD is 12.

If you are checking in at the airport with Jet2 that costs extra. The cheapest way is to check in online. If you do this without paying extra to choose particular seats the website still shows which seats you are going to get. If you do not like these seats don't complete the online check-in and try again later.

That's the problem though, the seats are for people aged 16 or over. She is only 12.

I have just phoned them but couldn't really understand the woman on the phone. She said there are seats still available, extra leg room seats that we would be allocated at the airport. I said that my daughter can't have these seats as they are for over 16s and she is 12. She said to turn up at the airport and 'surely' we would be found a seat. I said can she see on her system that there are other seats to be allocated to us that I am not able to see and she said no, these were the only other seats (apart from one standard seat but DD can't sit by herself).

I guess unfortunately it will be a matter of turning up and seeing what happens...................

er it's better than that, CAA rules mean that children sit with a parent

Thats my worry, if there are no seats together, then do we not fly? the only seats she says are available are for over 16s.

No, you will fly.

They will just move others.

Your daughter will sit next to one of her parents.
