Some people will try and steal or attempt to get for free anything and everything no matter what it's value. Just because you sarcastically choose to think it's highly unlikely or bound not to be you which obviously someones psychically suppose to know just shows your naivety to what you can see on a daily basis when dealing with the public.

Why do people always assume that because something comes from a certain shop, that that is proof of purchase enough?

If I stole a ferrari from a ferrari dealer, is it reasonable for me to say, "well I obviously got it from you, that's proof of purchase enough."?

Since when are Trading Standards going to be interested in someone returning something faulty worth 37p with no proof of purchase? Do you send them money to do these things? Because god knows how they'd have the funding to look into this (seeing that they couldn't do anything anyway as no proof of purchase was given).

uMMMM trading standards are interested in any company that refuses to give refunds on the basis that no one else has returned one!!!

im not saying they were wrong to ask for a proof of purchase ( although Ive seen these bags, pretty clear where they are bought from!!) but to refuse on the basis that no one else has returned on OH PLEASE- does that meber of staff work 24-7. Do they know what returns have happened up and down the land-?

I had one of these bags from Mr S with orange handles that frayed- Mr S took it back no problem, swapped it without receipt and by gosh, even apologized to me for the inconvenience.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

I used the term know it all in my first post which was obviously right. This is what happens when know it alls start pretending they know what actually proves someones bought something.

That was said but this was said as well after
"Doesn't look very new to me" the contrarian said. "If you bring it back with the receipt ... "

So yes if that was the case if the op even ad proof of purchase but they didn't. The the topic of receipt coming up more than once looking highly likely that with the receipt it would be exchanged TS will not be interested and just will be wasting their time!

OP...I normally provide contact email addresses of CEOs so that people can escalate their complaints to. However, due to the nature of your rudeness as detailed in your OP, I will give it a miss this time.
