    Thanks for you kind words regarding ds, Alec,Bearcub and Emm. He is going to be studying computer gaming . It also has other features but I can not remember them:o. Must look them up.

    Bearcub have you no spray for your back or heat pads. Hope you feel better soon.

    Emm the dog sounds lovely. A nice companion for your other one.

    Iv not done any housework as A, Im lazy and B, took dd to the summer event in the park . :D

    Hopefully ill get some housework done on Saturday.

    Look after yourselfs everyone.
  • Well it's not much, but having finally convinced DS that there's no point just adding to the pile of Xbox/Wii games he sorted some out he would get rid of. While he's on holiday (or should I say before he has chance to change his mind!) I've taken them into Game and traded them in for a £42 gift card :j While this doesn't cover the cost of FIFA 14 when it comes out in September - £59.99 :eek: (it's his birthday though and apparently he can't live without it...) I'm patting myself on the back for having got 13 games out of the house and there's only the one to come in :dance:

    Happy bank holiday weekend everyone x
  • Hi Messies!
    Mummybobble, I wish I could persuade my DS to part with stuff he`s never going to use! His clutter would fill a computer/ games etc museum!
    Snookey, I`ve not done any housework either, just cooking and washing up. My excuse is I`m giving Littly Dog a chance to settle in!
    Bearcub, not only am I envying your elephant hawk moth caterpillar, but also your admin efficiency! I could do with a bit of sorting & shredding here. Hope the muscles ease off soon for you. Funny thing with baths, I find I haven`t the patience to fill it up and soak in it, but I can stand for ages in the shower! The only time in the last few years I`ve actually laid in the bathtub was when my operation wound was healing and baths were advised.

    Littly Dog is still very clingy with DS, but today she has worked out who does stuff in the Kitchen! She`s fine with Dafty Dog, but the cat is another story. They have so far only hissed and growled at each other in passing, and they both seem quite eager to back away. They`ve met a few times in the garden, but there`s plenty of room and cover out there for them both. Interesting times!
    Have a nice weekend all.x

    Afternoon Messies.

    Thanks for reminding me, snookey, I do have some gel that I can use for my back,although it's a lot better today. I'm being very careful what I do, but mucking out was, rather oddly, not at all painful. Sounds like a very good idea, getting rid of the unwanted games, and that new one sounds just the kind of thing DD2's bf would like. Knowing him, he'll buy it as soon as it comes out.

    Emms, I found a second one of those caterpillars on another fuschia, shortly before it decided to descend from the pot, and find a place to hide and pupate.

    Cats aren't nearly as accommodating with strangers - cats or human. Our neighbours next door-but-one have three cats, but only one dares come into our garden. Marmite is a sweet cat, and has shown no animosity at all towards Star, but Star is all teeth and claws as soon as Marmite makes an appearance, while Garfie just stands at a distance and watches.

    Not doen a lot at home today. Mum came over to look at the B&Q website, looking at kitchen cupboard doors. The man who's just improved her bathroom will be replacing doors and worktops in her kitchen in October. I've managed to persuade OH that we could possibly have ours done next year.

    Mummybobble my ds is the same, one min its the latest craze then its traded. I dare not think of the amount of money we have spent on games over the years.
    Bearcub glad your feeling better.
    Emm my son has a box of toys that he wont part with. All the rest of the clutter was cleared out when we did his room. He has thankfully kept it clean.

    Today Im pleased to say that Iv cleaned out the cellar. Iv put all the stuff that is to be thrown to one side . When the rubbish blokes come next week Ill move it into the back yard with all the other junk.

    Things to be done;

    Freezers into cellar now its clear or will be by next week;
    sort out bedroom drawers, too many clothes that I dont wear;
    sort out spare bedding for charity;

    Iv decided to decorate our bedroom next week. We have those horrible polystyrene tiles on the ceiling. They were there when we bought the house but its only now that I feel able to tackle them.

    Enjoy your weekend everyone.

    I washed the kitchen and bathroom floors, cleaned the windows in all rooms except the kitchen - that means climbing, and I don't think that's a good idea atm. Put away dried washing, and put away some more craft items. Now, what's left in here is stuff I either need to prepare for the next craft club, or genealogy materials. Must remember to make OH's birthday card, though.

    Well done Bearcub. Climbing would not be good atm as you say.
    Iv made a pole that I stick the mop head on for high windows.

    Are you going anywhere nice for your hubbys birthday.
  • DD and DS come home tonight from their holiday with their Dad :j Their onsies are washed ready for when they arrive home complaining it's freezing after a week living it up in Greece.

    As much as I moan about them at times, a week is an awful long time without them. Left myself lots to do today so I'm not clock watching all day (though I have already checked their flight even though it doesn't go until the middle of the afternoon...). Clean bedding to put on for them, general tidy round (nothing to drastic, don't want them thinking they've come home to the wrong house!) and a not very mse trip to the shop for treats to munch tonight while we watch some rubbish telly they've missed while they've been away :-)

    May be TMI but I can't believe how much less loo roll has been used without them here. Are they eating it or what???

    Bearcub, you have me thinking about cleaning windows, flipping heck, another job for the to do list...
  • Morning All!
    Snookey, my DS is FORTY! That`s a lot of years` worth of stuff - and we also have a lot of games/books etc of DGDs here as she spends half her time with us.
    Bearcub! Steady on there, you`re making me dizzy with all that cleaning! Glad your back is better though.
    Mummybobble, you aren`t the only one who notices when loo-roll lasts longer in the absence of certain members of household. Enjoy your evening when they get back.

    Chez-Emm -
    LR a bit chaotic when I came down this morning. Both dogs beds had been moved around a bit, and it looks like Littly had a bit of a stock-take of her toys (a carrier bag full was sent with her, but some were obviously new, probably `farewell gifts`. ) Had a quick tidy, and they`ve had a lollop round the garden. Daftie-dog now looks exhausted!!! We`re going to take Littly in the car to a little wildlife park near here. Could walk there but I want to get her used to going in my car and not thinking car is just for vet or journeys into exile! It`s a bit too strenuous for Dafty these days, even as a short outing, but I think it`ll be nice for Littly, reinforce the idea that she now goes out with us, has a bit of fun (on the lead) and comes back with us.

    Emm the amount of rubbish I took out of ds room you would think he had stored it for forty years not eighteen,lol. Mind you Iv hording problems which Im now trying to eradicate.

    Loo roll my dd who is 10 uses it to dry herself after a shower. Has this fear of fluff getting on her from the towel. This from a child who hordes dust bunnies in her room.

    Emm my dogs used to love the car .

    Mummybobble I know what you mean about missing them when away. Have a nice evening.
