Isn't that just 5 weeks notice? I assume he will pay you up till 6th June?? Otherwise, how stupid is he?

You are entitled to 12 weeks notice, after you have worked the 5 weeks (which i asume he is going to pay you for, so you cannot sign on) you are entitled to another 7 weeks PILON if he is not wanting you to work them. This is the MINIMUM you are entitled to. Before you agree to anything contact ACAS, i am suprised you have not done this yet

My recent voluntary redundancy, as well as for the entire workforce of the business (business winding down), was agreed with a minimum of 4 weeks notice. Is this wrong?

How long have you worked there and what would your notice period be if you weren't going on VR, just resigning?

Are you getting any PILON?

it is indeed 5 weeks, he is not paying me for them, i am to sign on and at on 6th june i will receive my redundancy.

he is far from stupid but very very crafty

So nothing to lose by reporting him now really is there?

I've been there 4 years, many others upto and around 15-20 years. No PILON as far as i'm aware. I believe notice period would be 1 month if we were to resign.

Then 4 weeks notice of leaving and then your redundancy payment is correct. The 15 - 20 year guys are probably in a different position however.

I understand that my 4 years would have made sense for the 4 weeks, which is why i mentioned that many more colleagues have been at the company for much longer periods of time and are all still getting 4 weeks notice!

They are due notice of 1 week per year upto 12 weeks redundancy 20 years count, the rate(0.5,1.0,1.5) dependant on age.
