    It's a horrible condition isn't it?

It was worse the first time really, he was a big baby (9lb 6oz - I am 5'1!) and I was in agony, not helped by my gp telling me to take one paracetomol if it got really really bad...

Noone really seemed to know much about it then (2001) and I also breastfed him for 14 months which meant it stayed at pregnancy levels pretty much until about a month after i'd finished feeding him :(

The next pregnancy after that was twins and I thought oh dear this will be hell, but luckily I was then automatically under consultant care and the team at the hospital were much more aware of it, was obviously in a lot of pain still but it wasn't worse, I only breastfed the twins for a few days as we'd moved house a week before they were born and didn't even have a sofa to sit on and it cleared up pretty quickly as soon as they were on bottles. I also got refered for physio afterwards as I had recurrent sciatica too.

Last baby, I was still seeing the physio at this point so I had a support belt and specific exercises which helped TONS and even with 5 children including toddler twins who were being carried upstairs etc still I wasn't very bad at all :) Exercises were all very simple ones but made a big difference.

    sorry for thread hijack!

I love mine, no sores, no breaking in, just slip them on and get walking.

No I dont think they tone but they are very comfortable and I wear mine for at least 2-3 hours a day if not more (kick off the work shoes as much as I can throughout the day).

As a dedicated high heel wearer I am surprised at how passionate I have become about my FitFlops. Not owning any comfortable shoes I bought 2 pairs (FULL PRICE!!!) for a holiday a few years ago and can honestly say they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. Haven't had to break them in (don't know the names but I have 3 sequinned pairs and some with studs - which i did get half price in Harrods sale!) Have become so attached to them I also bought a pair of FitFlop boots (just before they were reduced ) and even though I vowed only to wear them for shopping (Shop til you drop is no longer an option for me when wearing them!) I have worn them quite a bit

I have no idea if they tone but they look good and they are comfy to wear (I did find that walking a lot on hard surfaces in other flipflops gave me back ache but no probs with FitFlops)

I bought my first pair of fitflops last year and didn't have any problems wearing them in but I did just wear them around the house at first. Found I could wear them shopping and my feet were fine. Very comfortable, normal cheap flipflops make my ankles ache, so I would like to get another pair but will wait for them to be on offer. Prior to buying these I tried on some sketchers fitflop type shoes. They were way too long at the front even though I have quite long big toes. I cant say they have actually done any toning up but they look good and are comfy so I am sold but wish they were less pricey!
  • Just want to add that one of the bonuses of wearing fitflops is that you can walk over those raised bumps designed to assist sight impaired peeps without them hurting the soles of your feet.

In the night I used to get cramp in my calf's (left or right, sometimes both!) several times a week, but since I've been wearing my fit flops (Electra in summer,Superboot in winter), not once have I been troubled. A definite success for me!

;) They are the most comfortable shoes I own (I have four pairs), and I practically live in them. I have problems with my knees, largely because I overpronate (roll inwards). The Fitflops seem to stop this happening.
Also, if you collect Tesco Clubcard vouchers, one of their newish deals is with beautyexpert.co.uk and they sell them - so you can get a pair for half the value in vouchers. HTH

I have a pair of Fitflops, and I'm a competive runner. I wear them after my long runs and they help my muscles recover, much more so than if I didn't wear them. Last year when I went on holiday I wore them every day, at the end of the holiday after I got back my running friends commented on the muscle definition in my calves, due to the continuous wear of the fitflops. I guess they only work if you're already fit, if you're overweight and relying on these to work miracles to help you lose all your excess weight, you will be disappointed, as everyone knows, only regular exercise and good healthy eating does that.

I have numerous pairs of the Skechers tone up (toe post sandals and also trainers) and I find them really comfortable and great for walking in! Incidentally, in Littlewoods at the moment they have some for less than half price!
