"Due to exceptional demand, this product has been withdrawn until further notice. If you have already made an application, or opened an account you will be able to deposit funds in the usual manner."

Note "Until further notice" perhaps there will still be a chance of opening one of these accounts at a later date.

Anyone who has already opened one of these accounts has 20 days to add further funds.

Applied for an account before closing, and got the application received email. First payment scheduled to go from DD on the 5th of May. Note says product withdrawn - but no mention of deadline for those who already made an application. Will May 5th be too late for deposit?

See update that I added to my post above as you were posting.

At the end of the online application procedure I was told that I had 20 days to fund the account. (Customer Services confirmed this on the phone today.) After realising that the DD would take so long I made a couple of deposits by Faster Payments. The original DD is still scheduled to be taken.

I had problems logging in for the first time. My mistake with the password as it turned out. But I got locked out trying to reset the password by giving letters from memorable data. After phoning Customer Services (nice feature to tell you what place you are in the queue) and getting my password reset I logged in successfully. Then I discovered the reason that my memorable data had not worked was that the details were not those provided during my recent application but different details that I had provided previously to operate a postal account.

Door firmly padlocked on this one to new applications.
If the ball had gone in the net it would have been a goal.
If my Auntie had been a man she'd have been my Uncle.

The door to the Newcastle Premier 4.4% Bond maybe closed, but the Premier 4.4% ISA remains open as I write.

Hi, I applied this morning but don't know what my online login id is?
Is the login id same as my email address?
