I don't know about other people, but I for one, would be eternally grateful, if you would stop using that ridiculous word "gunna" when you mean "going to". It's not smart or trendy and it just shows a lazy disregard for the English language.
Does it realy matter that much how someone writes their post as long as we can make head or tail of it? . If the word 'gunna' annoys you so much their is a thread on MSE for 'sayings that annoy you' lolI love my New Year's day baby girl Olivia xx:happyhearxx0 -

OK I'm going to get rocks for this but I find this "mission" rather distasteful. Here we have someone who apparently won't take responsbility for having their own property but is quite happy to take advantage of someone who does and who's idea of helping the old boy out is to to completely redesign it to suit their own requirements rather than his.
Well thats how the lead post reads to me. I hope I've got it wrong TBH.
Cheers
He needs this house done, he wouldnt get anywhere near the value if he was to sell it, and has started doing it up, but always ran out of money or time to finish it, hense why it needs finishing, it is currently a total sh*t hole. You no nothing of our situation, his dad cant afford to keep this place, we cant afford our own. So we are helping him out MASSIVELY by doing this, as he wants it done.
we're not doing it all 'our' way, he has his input too.I'm not a bloke! :rotfl:My real name is Sinead, Sid is my nickname :rotfl:0 -

i actually teach English abroad and the term 'Gonna' is part of the spoken English language so it isnt that far from 'proper'!
Good luck with the project. i look about my homes and i have an endless list of jobs so when your finished,,,,totally unoriginal!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0 -
Then perhaps you should have phrased your original post rather better than you did. As you clearly didn't read it before you hit "submit" any more than you actually read my post what else is there to say?He needs this house done, he wouldnt get anywhere near the value if he was to sell it, and has started doing it up, but always ran out of money or time to finish it, hense why it needs finishing, it is currently a total sh*t hole. Oh dear!i actually teach English abroad
Not it's not - it's a slovenly and lazy contraction of "going to". Common usage it may be but that doesn't make it proper and as a teacher you should know better. You'll be telling us next that "innit?" at the end of every sentence is proper I suppose.and the term 'Gonna' is part of the spoken English language so it isnt that far from 'proper'!

lol is also a contraction but its in the dictionary-abroad you have to teach students to understand American English as well as uk English and if you look through the text books 'gunna is in there!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0

I have done a little research on this and the multi lingual encyclopedia wiktionary confirms the following:
Under English language, the word "Gunna" =
1. (rare) alternative spelling of gonna.
Wiktionary also clearly state that as for the word "Gonna", it is American english, not british english.0
