Oh yeah, that's fine. They didn't exactly use that phrase, but that's what it is essentially, and I'm pretty sure they can offer rates on an individual basis. It's something that we use at Natwest aswell, and I remember it when it was first introduced.
I ain't really bothered as long as I can get my 0% balance transfer tbh
Anything that I do say, is strictly my opinion

They gave me 19.9 online before I confirmed acceptance of the offer. the promotional rate was 17.5 IIRC.
Made purchases already :embarasse :beer:0 -
I applied three weeks ago and was told they couldn't make a decision immediately. Got two letters stating that as I already had an account with them, I couldn't have another one. Called India, spent 20 minutes being sent from one department to another, to be told that my balance was nil on a very old card. I was invited to reapply over the phone, which I proceeded to do, only to be told that:
a) as I am not 'employed', I cannot apply (income £21k +)
b) as I don't actually live in the UK, I am not eligible (I live in the British Isles, last card was registered here
c) I had to have a UK bank account, which I do. This changed to needing a Barclays account with a wealth manager.
d) and by the way, I couldn't reapply within 3 months of being declined!
"But I was declined through your mistake!"
I asked to speak to someone who knew what was going on and was cut off!
What shall I do?0 -
Try to get through to a manager? The call centre staff can be quite limited in that they do not always use initiative and tend to follow a very strict script.
Though I have a barclays bank account (no wealth manager), I was accepted for a Barclaycard plat balance transfer card with a part time income of £11k. Things like your credit history, current credit commitments and debt to income ratio are also factors. At the time I applied I also had a zero balance on my other two credit cards and a 20% credit to income ratio.0 -
Tried to get through to a manager? I asked, but was cut off. The letters I received from them stated that I was declined solely because of the old card with a nil balance!0
