Woolworths Online

I'm so angry - I feel like I'm hitting my head against a brick wall! I recently ordered a DVD from Woolworths Online for store pickup. I'm very good and reading the small print and I'm absolutely convinced that I read that when you order for store pickup then you pay when you pick up. Apparently not. I definately didn't see anything saying the amount would be debited from the account when I ordered.

Anyway, I put the order in and waited for my email to say that the DVD was in store for pick up - I'm still waiting (two weeks later!). Then the bank statement arrived and I've been debited! Grrr! As far as I'm aware, they shouldn't have taken the money until it had been sent to me or picked up. They now have my money and my DVD.

I'm unable to pick it up without the email. I've been in contact with customer services who can't do anything about refunding me. I need to go to the store, explain to them what happened and ask them to refund me.

They have not replied to me about the lack of the email too.

I won't be using the collect at the store service again.

It's really annoying isn't it? My local Woolies is really good - I've never had a problem with CS there, and most of the people have worked there for ages so I've got to know some of them. The online branch is a shambles though!

Yes our local store is very good and nothing seems a problem, they have had alot of complains about damaged goods being delivered from the online part , so they told me anyway

I'm going to the store on Saturday (I need my hubby with me as it's his card they need to refund), but I don't have the email to show them. I'll just have to print the messages I have with CS and hope for the best.

  • I ordered three of the bargain 39p books in early October. The online site says they are being processed yet when my credit card statement came yesterday I have been charged for them - luckily its only 1.17 but I still dont have the books.

Went into the store today and apparently they are in transit somewhere - perhaps on a sleigh.

On a positive note they have also credited my account for something I know nothing about.

Perhaps they needed to put a bit more thought into this before they started it. I expect it the age old 'we didn't expect the service to be so popular!'.

I'll be back on Saturday to let you know how I get on with CS on Saturday.

I ordered a Barbie rapunzel head from woolies online for store collection. A week after the expected arrival in store I recieved a email telling me the item was out of stock and wouldnt be available, luckily i hadnt been charged. So I purchased an alternative. The next day in a nearby large town I noticed the rapunzel head in stock in Woolies. Emailed and complained that I thought they should have refered me to an store instead of just cancelling the order. They wrote to me apologising and enclosed a £10 gift voucher. so a reasonable result as when seeing the toy in reality it was a lot smaller than the pic appeared and wasnt nice at all.

The store should refund you - if they dont you can always try doing a chargeback with your card issuer.

Though just a quick thought - if you thought you paid when you picked up the item how come you gave them your card details?
