Basmati Rice, that is a complete nuance and a rip off. Good old long grain, far better and cheaper

Japanese rice is short grain ...We use pudding rice from Sainsburys if we can't get hold of any Japanese variety rice ( Koshihikari or Nishiki are common types)

If you eat with chopsticks the good thing about this type of rice is that it is a bit sticky and is easy to pick up.

It was the only thing i could blame for the shortage, honestly you should have seen morrisons shelves they were bare!! Nothing except brown or a few bags of long grain.

i think maybe if its getting the same everywhere, is the nuclear contamination in Japan has affected rice fields, and no more raw rice is being produced - could be wrong, just want to know your views too, i really hope i can get my basmati by the end of the week.

Why are you blithering-on about nuke contamination when there is the far more immediate and serious issue of toxic heavy metal contamination in rice from many countries and a general denial or inactionon the problem from the governments concerned.
