OOOOHHH Jackie,
After what you said I wondered about taking our boys, Yes we're south of the border, but only a few hours from the zoo. So I checked out the prices and there is a massive 33% saving. HUMMMMM After we've delivered the boys to school OH & I will chat about maybe taking them up tomorrow - yes it's a day off school, but what will they do really?? Never been to Edinburgh zoo before. And my brother and his girlfriend live there too, so might see if I can meet up with them too. Getting excited already!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Esmf Scotrail do train tickets where kids go free, and they get in free to the zoo too, which is also a good saving - if you can't make it tomorrow, that might be worth looking at too.
Let me know if you are going tomorrow though and we can have a mini meet and say hi
PS you need to buy the tickets online to get the cheaper price for tomorrow. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your window

morning!
lovely day here!:j I've booked the day off to take mu sister to her hospital appointment and spend a bit of time with her - havent seen her in weeks and she only lives 5 mins up the road! We're having an early lunch out together so looking forward to that.
Later I'm taking DSs GF home, DS1 to the radio station(while DH mends his exhaust) and DS2 to work! so busy day here.
I'm waiting for the boiler man to come and service it - he was told it had to be early or not t all today so is booked in for 8.30am.
WM is on the go and I've tidied and mopped the floors. Just having a coffee now.
My sympathies to those with expensive car repairs - am praying DSs exhaust can be patched up - DH is very handy with a welder:)
Hope you all have a great day xDo what you love :happyhear0 -

Jackie, it's the drive shaft, so won't be cheap and certainly won't be worth the money vs what we paid for it.
Dad was very scathing this morning about it, especially the fact that it is a Landy. He has offered to lend us some money to buy another but DH wants him to guarantor a loan, to help get his credit rating up. Which is a good idea but I would rather be paying 0% interest to something stupid interest. I need to get his credit files and check them out.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
Morning all!
Sun is shining Girls all departed for school and ds will be off to college in a bit! I woke up feeling exhausted, dreamed I was swimming, so now wondering if I check my swimstuff and see if it's wet lol!
Kids all did their chores yesterday, quite possibly only minutes before I got home, as the house is looking very tidy, and it doesn't usually stay like that for more than five mins! Work was full of odd customers yesterday, think the sun must've brought them all out, but there was some most peculiar behaviour! Got my payslip though, which showed a nice amount for overtime, and considering I only usually do Sundays as extra I was quite pleased! We're also about to start selling make up in our store, which is handy as I like the Barbara Daly nail polishes - a nice little treat sometimes! Reductions were aplenty in the store yesterday, some customers did extremely well which was nice to see, I got some pancakes reduced to 9p and some lovely toms for 22p, dd3 had some of the pancakes for brekkie this morn, and I shall be snacking on the toms myself, as they're one of the few things that the kids don't like raw! Also picked up some value pasta for 9p a bag, not ideal for boiling and serving as it's very thick, but great for pasta bakes as it really holds its shape and retains a bit of bite.
OS stuff for today will be a wipe down in the kitchen, a clean and mop of the utility - full of dog hairs again, will the hound ever stop moulting, and grass from where ds mowed the back lawn yesterday, also have a couple of sacks of bits cleared from my old car that I shoved in the understairs cupboard that need sorting, so will hopefully get those done too! Working from lunchtime till 7pm, so need to sort out dinner for the troops before I go, not sure what is on the meal plan, so best have a look, think it may be chococlare's chinese chicken, so nice and easy - also have some stir fry in the freezer so they can do that to go with it, weather seems too nice for heavy rice and noodles!
Oh, whilst sorting through paperwork yesterday, I decided to have a look online at my clubcard vouchers, it lists all the ones you haven't used, and I found I'd got £90 worth - only have about £30 that I can find at home, so definitely recommend checking!
Hope everyone has a good day xxxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Noticed that Tesc0 clubcard vouchers have offer for Edinburgh zoo too xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Is it a Freelander? If I had known that I would have warned you well off, we had one which was a complete money pit, ended up selling it for £400 because the repairs were silly money. I will find the website I sold it through, for you - no one even looked at it on Ebay, I sold it to a dealer, took about four weeks, but he came and picked it up from my house, cash on collection. Nice easy transaction. The drive shaft can be done a bit cheaper if you know someone who is handy, I have become quite the expert - on paper - at Landy repairs :rotfl: (I also have a rear diff lying in my garden which you can have if you need it

Morning All
Can't wait to get to the dentist today and get this damn tooth sorted once and for all.
One load of washing done and pegged out, DS has gone to school and I am off for some porridge and a shower.
Dinner tonight is spicy chicken (BB style) with salad - I don't know what I will have yet, depends on how things go at the dentist.
have good days all xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
