Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Thursday 7th April. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
I'm up early again, next door made a lot of noise going to work today, but at least I'm not panicking about First Aid, I will cover until Friday as it's the end of term. I feel guilty as it puts extra pressure of the others in the team, but it's not me causing the problem, it's someone else.
I'm going out this evening straight from work, so I'm making double sandwiches for me, hubby will have left over fish pie.
Right, time to start making the packups & unloading the DW.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning Hester & all who follow! Gorgeous day yesterday wasn't it? Not totally sunny here in Yorkshire, but the wind was warm, if strong, and it was dry. I managed to get two loads of washing lovely and dry. Almost the whole house cleaned (just the sitting room left) and planted my rhubarb plants and salvaged my fallen over greenhouse. I managed to salvage my tomato plants (hope they survive) and used all the compost on the new bed I'm making. Will be interesting to see what grows!
Today I have to do the ironing, sort out and put away the washing and then tonight I'm off to a Jamie Oliver party! DW on and WM doing a second spin of last nights wet bed (thanks DS2!) Going to go through the paperwork today and see what I can bin! Dinner tonight will be curry (from the freezer) and pitta bread that I'll try to pass off as Naan!! Had fish & chips last night as a treat. Must search for the back of the remote control - its gone off on its holidays somewhere!! Hope that its a good day weatherwise today (would be lovely). Positive vibes to everyone today .xMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Morning Hester and esmf and all those to follow!
Well hopefully another lovely day today, I would love to get all the washing and ironing done while it's nice. Kids are at school/pre-school, I have a dr appt to sort out my work situation I hope then i'll get the usual OS tasks done. WM, DW, bread, hoover, bathroom. Would like to get some more seeds planted this afternoon.
Also need to do DS1's party invites and get them to make a card to send to my uncle for his birthday.
Another busy but hopefully satisfying day
Hope you are all ok and well

Morning all,
Looks like another beautiful day here, off to work today. Dinner tonight will be fish fingers chips and beans, so no effort there.
Did a wash last night and put it on the line, so that should dry well today, will have a quick tidy round before I go, and do another wash tonight.
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning ladies.
I have DC3 home today, so not a lot will get done.
DH has managed to get a lift into work this morning :T We are going to bung the car on Ebay for spares or repair. I am going to see if I can get an emergancy loan from the Cdredit Union, they can give up to £500. Am so pee'd off. This car only had to last us till June '12 and I would have paid off the CU altogether and we would have had a decent amount saved to buy a half decent one. I can't access the savings until the loan is paid off.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -

Good Morning All
Beautiful start here again.
Plans for today - office this morning and ironing this afternoon. Back is much better so no excuse to ignore the ironing pile.
Need to route around in freezer to sort out dinner but there is more than enough stuff in there
Missed Superscrimpers again last night, from all the comments on here and facebook doesn't seem that I missed much :rotfl:
Have a great day.x0 -
Good morning peeps,
Glorious morning here so I think I will wash the chair covers and peg them out
Frickadellen went down really well yesterday. Thanks JulieGeorgiana. We had it with millet and mixed salad and DH wants it to be on the menu regularly
Dinner today is bacon and cabbage so I shall make lentil soup with the bacon & cabbage water. I will cook extra potatoes and poach the smoked haddock & smoked salmon fillet (both from the condemned shelf in T3sco), so that the fishcakes can rest in the fridge. They'll then be ready to cook when I get home from work tomorrow.
Happy Thursday chaps and chapesses, hugs to those who need or want.

Morning :hello:
Been busy this week. We've built a fence from scratch (yay us! lol), it goes along a bit, around the corner on an angle, then straight, then another angle........ a couple of the posts are wonky but I don't care
I bought 1.2m high wire mesh from ebay, and got the timber for free :j from some old racking at mr tru's old job. We even managed to make a gate, lol. I'm quite proud of it. The chickens don't have to share space with us anymore, they have their own playground. Not quite sure how they ended up with more garden than us though
We can now plant flowers without them being eaten, sit on a chair in the garden without having to clean it first, and my favourite - fling the french doors wide open without the girls coming in and perching on the sink
Went to Trago Mills and bought some baskets for £2 each, they'll fit perfectly on the shelves in the kitchen (which is almost finished, bout time too).
Mum and dad are coming round later, so we'll spend the morning dropping off some paperwork to the new boss then come home to tidy the garden some more.Bulletproof0 -
Morning all
Bright and sunny here, bit of a nip in the air but that will soon go. Beautiful day yesterday, took a risk and put the washing out as it didn't look to promising, then was glorious by 10am - pleased I bothered! DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.
How typical my meal plan was stew and dumplings last night so had defrosted the meat, warmest day of the year so far and I cook winter food!! Was lovely and enjoyed by all. Have been eating at the table instead of in front of the tv on trays, so much better, kids not that impressed but has stopped them messing about and eating not just watching tv.
Made lots of phone calls yesterday, DH's car going to the garage this morning, for service and MOT. 1 load of washing already on line another ready to go out. Got the ironing done yesterday, but obviously there will be more today as the washing on the line dries. DH off work tomorrow as we have a working weekend away with the caravan, he will go first thing tomorrow morning, I will go once the boys home from school tomorrow afternoon, forecast looks good - should be a good weekend. Have therapy at 11.15am this morning, and also have all the normal jobs, housework etc, so will be looking to get all this done, so tomorrow all I need to do is a food shop and some cooking/baking but that's not such a major issue as can do it in the week as boys away from Monday morning until Tuesday night and I'm off work on Wednesday.
Need to get the chicken out of the freezer as forgot last night so need to crack on, have a great day everyone.
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Morning All,
Bright morning here today
Booked the zoo tix last night, and we are going tomorrow morning
Last day of the special offer price, but the best day for us to go as the weather report is fab! :j
Sorry to hear about the car, Tigerfeet. Are you sure its not in any way redeemable? That's a lot of money down the drain
DS2 is off to a friend's this morning, and DS1 and ! will get stuck into finishing off the playroom / his new bedroom and get it finished. I am determined not to have a nap today, and get my housework all finished so that I don't have any to do tomorrow. Got a pile of washing to dry too, I will stick that outside shortly.
Car came back from the garage sounding healthy yesterday. It has cost almost £600 in the last four weeks  I am concerned the cat is slightly noisy but the OH thinks I am imagining it. I will take it somewhere next week and get it checked in case it can be welded before it becomes a serious problem, otherwise that part of the exhaust will be £200
Will bake some low carb brownies today for our oicic tomorrow, and we need some bread made, too. Curry for dinner tonight for them and tandoori tofu for me.
have a great day, hugs spoons and hi fives if you would like some
