Lots of people that receive this "free" money also pay tax just like you. Idiot.

At last the voice of reason :o I must say that I wholeheartedly get fed up with people on this forum who are so dead set against what they consider to be 'free handouts'. I am nearly 27 weeks pregnant with twins, and will be claiming WFTC myself as soon as I can. I will only be able to work 20 hours as the cost of child care and what I earn will not cover the maths! Personally, I think it's the high cost of child care that is the problem

I am 42 years old and have not yet had a family, after starting work at 15! In between this 27 years of paying contributions I have ONLY had two very brief spells of unemployment before finding work very quickly! Even as a student I had TWO JOBS to make ends meet!

Personally I think that I am entitled to claim back something from the state after making so many years of 'GOOD' contributions!

If some people on this forum don't like it that's THEIR PROBLEM

I'm also amazed at people earning so much who are complaining we earn a hell of a lot less and we both work we could go solely on benefits and probably be better off but don't cos that's not something we want to do and this morning we have had our money cut dramatically by £240 a month that's almost as much as I earn a month so you can imagine how hard this will hit our family.

We can't claim housing benefit cos we decided to get a mortgage years ago and we can't get council tax benefit we don't get any help and we have 2 kids (2 and 3months) our choice to have them and that is why we work to try an support our family ourselves. Personally I'd love 45k like someone was getting and I wouldn't want any benefits.

Good luck to everyone who has had their money cut I hope your able to carry on working cos all I can see these cuts doing is making people reconsidering working which isn't gonna help the situation.

Really annoyed at the fact that people moaning about having a reduction in tc when they earn so much money! How can you not afford to live on £30 -50k and still claim wtc and ctc.It is greedy
    .

Having been a single mum myself for a time earning only a part time wage of 10K to support two children with no help from 'dad' i can both sympathise but have issue with your comment. As a lone parent with al the benefits i was entitled to because i worked and had 800 quid a month in childcare fees to pay was £30K! A completely riduculous amount of money that i really didnt need. Now in the same situation but as a married woman we are down to 27K, just for not being single! You need to check your entitlements if things are that tough. Are you claiming housing etc?

To call it greedy is wrong, we have exactly the same bills to pay as you do and we dont get HB or CTB etc. We might have twice the wage of one person, but the bottom line is that every penny is accounted for. We dont go on holiday, we dont eat out, once everything is paid for and on a budget of only 40 per week for food we only have 24 quid left to cover hair cuts and clothes for growing kids etc. Id hardly call that greedy. My cut of £200 a month in TC is massive to my family as im sure even a cut of 100 would be to you. its all relative.
