Are you really complaining about getting slightly less money for free from the government?

Plus I would hardly class £2,500 less a year 'slightly less'

Sadly on paper my ex gets job seekers allowance so it would be an allowance of £5 per week [which would be fair enough] however since splitting he has fallen in with some 'dodgy' family members growing a certain 'plant' and is making alot more than the £50ish the government thinks he is makin ... so lost cause there

Yes they come into effect today, but that doesn't affect your tax credits from last year.

Hmm thats strange ... im very confused now as I didnt report any change of circumstances and my payments have gone down quite significantly ... any advice ?

I dont want to argue with you.

However, at least you got so much that its even possible for you to get £2,500 less.

You know what I get every month from the government? £0. WHy is that fair?

Still £260 a year not to be sniffed at really.
I don't understand your point about him making more than £50ish if he claims JSA?

Wow, tell the police. Its your moral duty to society.

I genuinely would if I knew where the 'operations' were going on but without that information the police probably wouldnt take me seriously ... I do not agree with what he is doing one bit, I was not brought up like that

Indeed its not ! £260 would be a great help however the day in which we split he was physically abusive towards me and to be honest I'd be 'scared' to claim ... I mean from the JSA he gets £50 or so pounds

Your new tax credit award begins with a provisional amount which could be slighty less than you got the previous year, then you re new your claim come April/May/June when they get round to sending the forms out, then tax credits work out what's due if anything for the rest of the tax year. They (Tax credits) can't implement the new changes until a re neweal has been done.

Sorry, thats not what I meant it to sound like. Its just frustrating listening to people moan about getting cuts in their FREE MONEY FROM THE GOVERNMENT (I.E. the tax payer, i.e. people like me).

Having said that, your intention was clearly not to moan about it, and simply wanted to discuss the situation.

I wish you good luck :T:A

Sorry thats how I initially took it [I am very sorry to have misread it] I just wanted to mention it on the forums to see if others had been affected also [silly I know as the budget affects everyone] and thank you :o
