All I am saying is look on the bright side. Things are never that bad. You have a young family, and even if things get a bit hard then you will always have your friends, family and the love for your children to pull you through. :T:T
I am not a financial expert, and the post above is merely my opinion.:j
  • You are not alone, I had £25 less go in today than my last letter stated (from last October), and £25 less than they told me last week on the phone that I would be getting! It is also £27 less than the NEW updated hmrc tax credit calculator but when I phoned they told me they were unable to any calculations for 11/12 because this morning they had not actually updated their systems so I need to phone again tomorrow!

£100 per month is HUGE to me, it's HUGE to anyone, but this could be the tipping point of me holding my hands up and saying "OK, it's time to do a DMP or declare myself bankrupt"

I just have to wait until tomorrow and hope that it was a mistake!

were you educated at local authority schools? Ever been to the doctor? Does your rubbish get collected? People contribute in different ways, and take back in different ways.

But it could be argued that claimants also get all of the above, as well as "extra" money;)

As a fulltime working mum of two I receive ctc and wtc. Checked my bank account online this morning and I am £50 a week worse off thats £200 a month I cannot afford to lose :(

I only earn £14k per year , after rent,ct,bills, food etc I have nothing left.

I work in a different city to where I live as I need the money to survive but I cannot see how I am meant to carry on without this extra money.

After paying my nursery fees off each week I have no money now since the reduction and I only earn around £230 a week after tax and NI.

Maybe I should go on benefits because it seems like an easier choice. I dont want to have to take my little ones out of nursery luckily my little boy starts school in Sept.

I try my hardest to try and make a decent honest wage and bring up my children but everything is a struggle these days. Why pick on the poorest. £14 k is no alot to live on as a single parent.

Really annoyed at the fact that people moaning about having a reduction in tc when they earn so much money! How can you not afford to live on £30 -50k and still claim wtc and ctc.It is greedy.

Sorry, thats not what I meant it to sound like. Its just frustrating listening to people moan about getting cuts in their FREE MONEY FROM THE GOVERNMENT (I.E. the tax payer, i.e. people like me).

Having said that, your intention was clearly not to moan about it, and simply wanted to discuss the situation.

I wish you good luck :T:A

Lots of people that receive this "free" money also pay tax just like you. Idiot.
