Travelex Cash Passport Globe - Beats the rest?

So I decided to buy the Travelex Cash Global card on their website with 300 GBP on it.
However, the transaction fails for both my Visa Debit card and my Mastercard credit card.
Is anyone else having issues as well?0 -
I recently purchased one and used it for a trip to both USA and Canada. I found it really easy to use, accepted everywhere and easy to keep a track on spending, with purchases appearing instantly on my online account. I transferred money easily through my online banking for no charge and the money appeared in my account overnight. I just phoned their customer services with a query and found them really knowledgeable and helpful. I would highly recommend this card.
I can't compare to other cards as I haven't used one but the availability of travelex shops is also useful eg. to reclaim unused cash. Just beware that if you use in the UK there is a 99p charge per transaction.0 -

However, there is a minimum reload of £250, so presumably you cannot transfer less than this onto the card? I've just spoken to card services and they confirmed this. Don't know what happens if you try and transfer less in though...??0 -
My wife used a Travelex Globe for an extended trip during December while I stayed in the UK and made sure her card was topped up. Alliance & Leicester/Santander didn't charge for loading the card - it was a simple £ sterling money transfer as you would for paying a credit card, for example.
Things to watch though. The first bank transfer took a full week to appear in the Globe account. Subsequent transfers were the more usual 1-3 days. From memory, the bank account has to be in the same name as the Globe card holder (our bank a/c is in joint names and that worked).
Any remaining balance on the card will cost you to get back. £6 through "card services". Alternatively, they charge a 99p flat rate per UK tranaction so I'm going to top up to a round figure+£1 and draw out the cash at a UK ATM.
The "usual price £29.99" for the Globe card is possibly marketing - it has been "free" for at least 6 months...
Only problem with this is that there is a minimum load of £250 so you may well have to top up a lot and withdraw a lot of cash!0 -

You post doesn't make any sense at all. In addition to that, you are wrong about the minimum topup.
Not sure of the point of your post at all to be honest.0 -

It did make sense from the information I was given, however, I have been given mixed messages from card services. It is NOT clear in the terms and conditions whether the minimum load is for all loads or just the initial load- it just says 'Minimum amount you can load on your card - £250'. When I rang them they told me (and the lady double checked with someone else) that the minimum load OR reload was £250. However, I also emailed them and the reply said that you can reload with any amount. So not sure which is true!
So have you or anyone out there used it, and topped up with amounts less than £250? Or stilltheone, do you work for them or something? The amount you mention the Cash Passport Globe on the forums I'd claim commission from them if I were you0 -

Have you actually tried ordering a card with an amount of less than £250?
You would have saved yourself and others too, a fair amount of time having to read your jumbled posts.
I mention them because I discovered they were the best PrePaid card overall for overseas travel....and of course because people ask the same questions over and over again.
So why not do a 'dummy run' and let us know your 'findings'.0 -

You are clearly not reading my post properly. I am not talking about ordering with less than £250, but reloading less than £250. You keep complaining about people not reading your posts, but you don't seem to be reading anyone else's properly!0 -

Anyone else's?? Perhaps it is just your particular style of posting that gives me a headache.
You first post contains 'load' and 'top up', not 'reload'.
As to your 'question'... is it written in the T&Cs that the minimum you can reload is £250?
The fact is that that that figure is clearly no longer valid, as you can initially load less than £250 on to the card.0 -

I topped up with £200 through online banking with no problem.0
