or get internet explorer 9If you are an IE8 user then do upgrade to IE9 as this is closer to the HTML 5 standard and you get to see some great new features where websites look better (CSS3).
However, I am not a fan of Internet Explorer, I much prefer Firefox and Safari.
But I've come across RockMelt a brand new browser, based on Chrome, that is good for both Tweeter and Facebook.0 -
stick with internet explorer 8Must admit I'm now an Opera convert, but did try IE9 over 8 on my lappy....didn't really take to it, may well try it out again after a few months of bug-hunting by microsoft and "improving" it. Must admit, I still prefer IE7 of all the IE variants
oh, and firefox (was a secondary browser) has been banished from all my machines now............Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -

As others have said, dont use internet explorer whatever the version! It is slow and prehistoric. The best by far is Firefox http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/ Try it, it's free. You will notice the difference in speed.0 -
stick with internet explorer 8Firefox is jittery. When I'm reading a post, before I finish the first sentence, the page would've jumped on it's own and I'd be suddenly reading the remainder of a different post making me wonder what on earth is going on. I've kept Firefox as a standby and that's about it that it is worth.0

stick with internet explorer 8I installed IE9 last week, but didn't like the new Favourites Panel as the spacing has been enlarged, meaning that fewer Favourites can be displayed in the panel.
I couldn't find any way of changing it to the smaller spacing, so I've gone back to IE8."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
Soon as I installed IE9 I wanted it gone. All of the bars and buttons I was used to had gone. That was until I realised I had to manually select them to get them back:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

This is more of an issue unique to you and your equipment as opposed to Firefox as I have never experienced any such problem.
For a sensible answer to the OP, then recommending any alternative to IE is the correct answer.0 -

I perhaps should have explained that previous to IE9 I used Chrome because of the browser speed, I have now run a comparison and find both IE9 and Chrome compare favourably speedwise.Every day when I wake up I thank the Lord I'm WELSH. .0
