Oh, it is impossibble to ignore Fred.... absolutely impossible.. he is the biggest of them all but always following me around with those "feed me or I am gonna die" eyes...:o
We got a pressie today - a 2.5 bag of Orijen cat food out of the blue....
Never ordered it so looked at the invoice - my name/address etc but strange phone number..hmmmmmm Turns up it was a neighbour for whom I have stayed in their hause one morning last week to take delivery of kitchen units and worktops. Her "thank you" to me... Not that I expected anything - but brilliant.....:D0 -
OMG - got another pressie, a 7kg bag of Dog Orijen just arived, ordered by the same person for me.... wohoooooooooooooooooo:o0

I looked at that link and the poster has certainly put a lot of effort into it, but I have to admit, I was none the wiser as there seem to be pros and cons for every food.....feeling even more baffled now...Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0 -
My cats do 1 each per day, occasionally one of them will do 2, if they've had extras (treats etc) One cat only eats wet and only crap like felix, the other gets whatever dried I pick up, sometimes science hill sometimes lidls crunchies, at the mo he's got a mix of go cat and lidls stuff.0

It is simple with the dog as Zara is on Orijen ONLY, end off. With occasional raw bone/leftovers, easy to manage.
But I am completely lost with the cats as had a loooooooooooooooooooot of food when I hoarded it while I was working but now completely run out of moist food, still got a lot of dry... BUT
Fred will NOT eat any dry food or dry treats whatever. Not at all.
Other 3 eat dry food but because I have to feed Fred moist, they also get moist.
To be honest I have no idea how come Fred is the biggest as I only give them all 1 tin (400g) between the 4 of them per day (sometimes, ocassionally 2 tins) and the other 3 top up with dry food but Fred does not - still, he is the biggest of all of them.
What I am trying to figure out is.....
If I give them just 1 can of Animonda Carny per day between them, that means they get 100g of moist food per day and just for Animonda I will pay just over £30 per month (2 lots of 12 tins and 1 lot of 6 tins).
Dry I give them Taste of the Wild Rocky Mountain Feeline (also from zooplus) that costs £35 for a 6.8 kg bag.
I have no idea how to work out how much dry food do I need to buy per month/how much dry to feed them per day between the 4 (well, 3 as Fred will not touch it) of them so to calculate the monthly cost of that.
Anyone clued up on this?
Never paid any attention on how much dry they go through, just top it up when it goes low as they free fed on dry and with 4 there is no way to check which one eats how much so I need some kind of an estimate.....
I just realised that Animonda does dry food too so an option would be to move them to dry Animonda and feed only Animonda dry and wet to stick to one brand - still would have no idea how much dry do I need?
For financial reasons I ned to stick to just one tin per day between them, the rest has to be dry food....
Am I making any sense here?
Just trying to work out monthly cost of food... sigh.....
So far I got
£30 on Animonda tinned food
???? on dry food
£22 on cat litter
£11.00 for Effipro
??? for Drontal
They are not insured now which breaks my heart but really can not afford it at all but still the monthly cost is heading towards £100 or more for the 4 of them..... Hmmmmmgettingready wrote: »Well, as I will be having 5 and not 4 pretty soon - planning Classic too for wet and not sure what to do with dry as before I tried Orijen, Taste of the Wild and few others from "top shelf" but my cats seem to prefer .... Go Cat. They love kitten Go Cat and recently got adult one and mix it with Taste of the Wild as they did not like the taste of the Wild by itself
A bit off topic but - ermmmmm how many times per day does a NORMAL cat poo?
As I am permanently attached to a scoop and go through masses of cat litter I just wonder how many time do other cats go? Mine seem to poo 3-4 times per day each
I dont mean to sound harsh. But on another board, you are talking about going BR and being skint, barely have enough to live on for yourself, unable to cobble together enough the BR fee, then you are unable to afford the insurance for the dog and cats. Now you are getting another cat???0 -

Zooplus also offers 10% off for first time customers. You could figure out your bi-weekly pet food need and just keep reordering that one every few weeks. We always make sure to buy more than £19 because then we get free shipping. We also use Animonda and it is much cheaper on their site than in the stores. Hope that helps!0 -
THreemutleys - I do not feel I have much choice in taking Chloe on - she will end up in a rescue otherwise and as a 5 yo tabby she will have very small chance of ever being rehomed
AmM - I know that, I am not a first time customer at Zooplus as that is where I get some pet thingys from so would not get the 10% off, and I always order monthly. Thanks0
