  • I've had three, fully funded for over two years, and I haven't been offered the savings account either.

Ditto here..letter received today advising change of rate tier and that was it.
  • I have not been offered incentive account. I moved my current account from Nationwide due to the offer from Lloyd's now they have let me down. I am annoyed have only been with them 2 months and they alter the terms of the account.

Whats the crack with all the whingers not getting the Incentive account? There are a plenty of other accounts paying 3% with easy access.... If you didn't get it, jog on and look elsewhere..

It's the fact that people are being selected for this account on seemingly random, unfathomable or incorrect criteria. The extracted text criteria clearly aren't being applied to all people to whom they would seem to apply. This only leads to mistrust and a sense of confusion resentment and unfairness. If the bank was clear and up-front, not to mention consistent, things might be different, although I still think it's wrong in principle to select customers in this way - for what is not a top-end millionnaire's account, after all.

And yes, I meet the criteria but haven't received that letter, and will be moving at least the surplus away from Lloyds. Despite the hassle and the fact I've been a customer for over 20 years, I am now considering whether to move all my business from them.

maybe it may not seem fair, but how do we know that the criteria isnt just the vantage surplus etc? they could be judging on other things as well as people having more than the 5K??

it could depend on what other products you have, how long been with them etc?

For example, I have had the 3 vantages for some time now, but also have a standatd classic account which i have had for over 10 years which i my main account, several easy access savings accounts with small amounts in, plus their fixed rate cash ISA and amex duo credit card, so it could be overall profiles and account holdings taking into consideration also??

Also all banks etc "select" customers ie for who eligible for what types of accounts, special offers, interest rates, lending etc so its nothing new

It's almost certainly not that criterion, my partner has only had 3 x Vantage a/c for a fairly short period of time (few months) and has absolutely no other products with LTSB (never had any previous business with them either) and has received the offer.

thats strange then, i assumed it could be that, as mum and dad have similar lloyds product holding to me, and they have the offer, but my brother who only has the vantages hasnt had the offer. He held his as long as we have so not a new customer, unless thats why they offered your partner them if only had for a few months and the terms changing already?

I guess its like general bank scoring, will never know their exact criteria?

Lloyds is playing a dangerous game here - and not for the first time, as has been pointed out.

The way I prefer to think of it is not that we are Lloyds customers but that we lend the bank money.

To get those loans (and to get borrowers) Lloyds spends millions on advertising and promotion, yet it casually creates bad will with customers it already has and has spent a lot of money enticing on board.

Still, if we needed evidence of how inept Lloyds' senior management can be we have only to look at the HBOS takeover.

I wonder if there is a correlation between receiving this offer and the privacy/do not send me things settings- I told them not to send me offers by any means and haven't received a mention of this incentive saver.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,
Had the whole of their cash in his care.
