Quote from Lloyds letter I received this week:

"As you usually keep a balance of more than £5,000 we're offering you an exclusive Incentive Saver account with an interest rate of 3.00% AER, fixed for 12 months on balances up to £50,000. Your money is easy to access whenever you want to with Internet Banking and Phonebank and you won't lose interest if you withdraw any money. This offer will be available to you from 26 April to 31 July 2011."

    Not too bad I guess.

Not bad - and better than their normal Incentive Saver terms where one would lose interest if you withdraw before the anniversary point. (No interest paid for the entire month when a withdrawal is made.)

I'll reserve judgement until I see the actual Ts & Cs of the above-mentioned account, rather than relying on the marketing blurb in the letter.

I'd agree about the need to check the T&C but I am hopeful because they specifically mention not losing interest and it does require a phone call whereas normally when the Incentive Saver has been on offer it could be opened online rather than having the need to phone.

I received my letter today too, but haven't been offered the Incentive Saver Account, presumably because I've only had the Vantage account for a couple of months. I'm pretty annoyed actually, because I gave up my graduate interest-free overdraft in favour of Vantage, and now I'm going to have to be moving my money elsewhere I could have used that for stoozing.

ETA: Thinking about it, I should be able to switch back to the graduate account and then I can deposit the £7000 + the interest-free overdraft money in another account.

Interesting. I keep £7,000 in each of my three Vantage accounts and my letter didn't contain that offer. £6,000 looking for a new home.

I've had 7 Vantage accounts getting on for a couple of years and I haven't been offered the Exclusive Incentive Saver either.

LTSB have a history of offering enhanced rates to some customers & not to others, from memory they had an 'early bird' offer for maturing fixed-rate Cash ISA accounts a couple of years ago which prompted similar posts on these forums.

I've had three, fully funded for over two years, and I haven't been offered the savings account either.

It doesn't matter to me as I am moving mine to my old YBS account which is still paying 3.75%, but if you phone customer service and say that your 'friend' has been offered this deal, they may put you through to someone who can sort it? Just a thought.
