Hoping for something like the Newcastle 5 year bond (5%) which allows withdrawals at 90 days notice. Anyone spotted one.....?

Sadly, no. Haven't seen anything that juicy since it was on offer in summer of '09.

    One can hope, though...
R.I.P. Bart. The best cat there ever was.
  • It would be very interesting to know how much cash will leave Lloyds during June/July. Must be quite a lot.

Also, I guess they'll have a laugh at several individuals - the ones who can't/don't read - who will continue leaving £7K in and laundering the £1,000 through. Not noticing the 46% drop in interest.

Just over £21k from our LTSB vantage accounts hit our S&S ISA this morning. The 3% on £5k is still a good deal.
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

right, isa's opened now, so have £5,220 left in each of the 3 vantage accounts

just a question, am i right in thinking that whilst they are paying 4% on 5k -7k that if i left just £5,001 in each of the 3, i would get the 4% on the full £5,001? not just the £1.

(as i am considering moving that extra elsewhere and leaving just £5001 in there)

6 months notice is longer than I'd be happy with though there is the option of giving notice immediately on opening, then after 5.5 months cancelling, then giving a new 6 month notice a wek later.

But can I be ars*d with remembering all that...... The joy of the Lloyds was having 6 Standing Orders set up so it ran itself, yet having instant access if required.

    £10680 to Coventry 5% ISA.
£10000 already used to open Close 3 yr 5% bond
Leaving 2 X £5000 in two separate Vantage accounts.

ISTR that one allowed overlapping notice periods. So you don't need to cancel after 5.5 months. You can just give notice every week, and then the money is on instant-access from 6 months on. But I may be thinking of one of the other similar accounts there have been.
