Good to know such opt-out is not the criteria for exclusion from the offer. Suspected as much, as my original phone-call requesting the new version Incentive Saver met with the staffer consulting a supervisor, and still I was declined. The fact I instigated the call would have overridden an opt-out from marketing approaches. I was treated curtly, hence my stern letter of complaint. However, I ended my call by thanking the staffer for trying, "I know it's not your fault; it's the system" as I, too, fear Lloyds may be aiming to reduce branch numbers and staffing. Quality workers deserve to retain employment...decision-making management have yet to prove their worth! Incidentally I was told, prior to call-end, unless I held on and went through my grumble with a Complaints Manager the staffer would put it down as a resolved complaint. That, even after I had mentioned I am a person with disability for whom using a phone causes lasting pain.

How do you know your call would have overridden the opt out?

Everyone who calls about a new product with the no marketing indicator suddenly gets opted in magically?

It does not work that way on phonebank.

Could please someone shed the light whether exclusive Incentive Saver from LTSB, contain bonus interest for 1 year, I mean after 1 year it will drop automatically when we will be busy again to transfer it to another account ?

    Thank You

Sorted.... Nationwide Online Saver Plus (3.05%) and Northern Rock E-saver (Issue 5) 3.01% set up and ready to go.... all better than the Lloyds Incentive I never got offered.

That's £12k and a good chunk of my e-savings on it's way out of Lloyds coffers soon.
If the ball had gone in the net it would have been a goal.
If my Auntie had been a man she'd have been my Uncle.

Although they didn't offer it to me, when I rang asking why not, they offerred to open one for me because they felt like being all warm and friendly. Trouble with Nationwide is that it only allows one withdrawal a year, and Northern Rock don't do Faster Payments (according to the sort code checker).

If they try and offer it me when I come to move my money out I will tell them they should have offered it sooner. I may have left it with them as I'm only gaining a fractiion of a percentage point and it necessitated time in opening up new facilities.

As for the Nationwide one withdrawal penalty I dont see that as a problem as if I do make a withdrawal it will most likely be for the whole sum being taken out in one go to another account/NSI or ISA.

I'm not so bothered about faster payments from Northern Rock. Again I wont be making many withdrawal/payments so a few days lost interest isn't really an issue.

Just a shame Lloyds have played this "offer" so close to their chest..... As conspiracy theories seem to be flavour of the day has anyone got any conspiracy theories behind their tactics?

Don't think that'll happen unless you get in touch with them.

HERE'S a post by Baldur that explains more about the T&Cs. HERE are the current interest rates of the esavings account to which the Incentive Saver drops on maturity.
