expert expats and brits abroad

aka - money savers do it in the sun

hello there

just reading this thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=30188&goto=nextoldest

and there are LOADS of questions on the site about relocating abroad, transferring funds abroads, buying property abroad, cars, all sorts

is it worth having a brits abroad area of the site (in travel if you like) that all these sorts of queries and info can be stored in

france spain and america are themost popular ones that come up time and again at the moment but aus and NZ are pretty common too

if not part of travel then maybe an expat sub board on the UK board?

Sounds like a good idea, I know I could have done with such a board about a year ago :)

I just pop in now and then.... :)

  • Agreed. Excellent idea. Brits moving abroad is a massive area and must be lots of tips to save money etc etc. An expats section is good idea.

As an expat in sunny Sweden that uses this board every week - I couldn't agree more!
    Nice to save.
  • This is a great idea. I am an expat of many years standing. I often worry that I'm not making the most of my UK interests and have found this site great for information.

However when I have got excited and started to apply for things (such as on-line savings accounts for example), I have found them not open to non-residents.

One place to thrash out all this stuff and come up with alternatives / solutions would be great.

When are us expats going to get our own moneysavingexpert forum ?

I'm for that. I understand this was suggested some time ago, but I don't think anything was done about it.
