No it was £9 and had white daisy type flowers on with also white dots on. If i could have tried it on i wouldn't have bought it but there was no chance with 2 kids with me.

I bought this one was £9, similar to the one you mentioned.

  • Best buy for me in Primark is their towels. They came up very high on a Good Housekeeping survey a while ago and they are the best towels, and best value I've found.

This thread has tempted me to post for the first time despite registering ages ago!

I agree with others that some of the best buys are towels, sunglasses, pj's/loungewear, secret support camisoles, and the tights. Also the trainer socks - not the cheapest 5 for £2 packs which go hard and crispy after 2 washes, but the mid range 2-packs which are more padded and made by Umbro.

Their black eyeliner pens with the smudger on the end are the best I've ever had, much better than one I paid a lot more for (the blue and not so good as it was bit hard, but the black is so soft and just glides on and smudges well).

As well as towels, some of their other good homeware buys are cushions, the bobbly chenille bathmats, and I have a cat so I swear by the £2 plain fleece throws for the sofa (might be £2.50 or £3 now). I recently bought an enormous canvas laundry bag for £2, and some nice retro 70s patterned mugs for £2 for 4.

    Gift wrap and gift bags.

Haven't been on the boards for ages 'cos of all the silly school holiday dates and stuff...mine just gone back to school today (Phew...breathe sigh of relief!!). Went to Primark while they were off, and I must admit, I'm more impressed with their stuff than I used to be. Alas, if only they had more larger size stuff (or I were a fair bit smaller! :D...)...my girls just love it, and we have been getting more bits there lately, including some bargains! My 3 (16, 14 & 12 on Friday) lurve the fleecy cotton jammies -- we try to go in August or September to get best choice. They wash and wear beautifully, no shrinking or bobbling at all. And the fashion stuff is so reasonable, it doesn't matter about them not always lasting for years (like when I was growing up), as the fashions change so quickly and besides, the girls grow, eh! Must say, I really love the dresses that are 'in' this year...very summery, and the playsuits...oh, the nostalgia. I'd better stop now or I'll be doing a couple of Connie Francis or Brenda Lee choruses:rotfl:!):rotfl:

The sizing put me off at first. Now I just look at the garment and try on what I think will fit regardless of the size on the label.
I would normally buy 12/14 depending on fit but in Primark I've often bought size 16s.
  • This thread's tempted me into my first post too! I can lurk no more!

I don't think anyone's mentioned reading glasses? My local Primark (Oxford) has a fantastic selection at no more than £2 a pair - really fashionable frames and good quality (I've sat on mine more than once with no disasters).

Also - I have a teenage son that's got long legs but is as skinny as a rake so the great selection of waist/leg combinations available in Primark jeans are great for him.

My teenage daughter got a really good quality ski jacket from there last winter for less than £30 - we saw almost identical ones in shops whilst we were away ski-ing in France this winter for over £200!

Thanks for the tips about the control leggings - I'm not a fan of the regular ones as they tend to go baggy at the knees when you've been sitting down for too long, but I'll definitely seek the control version out.

Now I have an urge to set off on a hunt for lemon and flamingo dresses!!!!

Don't usually go to Primark, the queue always put me off, but if any interesting bargains in there I might just make the extra effort:D.
I don't think I've seen a Primark thread, thanks OP:).

I can highly recommend their leggings, not the ones that are on tables, but the ones that are slightly more expensive (£4) and packaged within a cardboard sleeve, in my Primarni they are hanging up on a wall near the underwear. Theyare called 'control leggings'. They are really good quality, wash well, and don't get horrible see-through areas from stretching.
these are great,i always buy these and i get my friends to buy these too.i get a size bigger though.
dont be put off that they are control, they are for everyone large or small alike!
