What they need to do is take those boy racers with their pathetic exhausts and shoot them all. No need to have an unnecessary loud exhaust, benefits no one. I really can't see the logic in it.
Now, their cars is worth throwing paint stripper over.
What I'd like to see (but too lazy to research it on Google) is the accident statistics for those German autobahn thingies to see how it compares to the UK's motorways.
The amusing thing about the autobahn, is that apparently they are extremely strict about pretty much every non speeding rule on them, and the penalties for any defects/breaking any of the other motoring laws are pretty harsh...
Much harsher than in the UK, and you're much more likely to get caught if you muck up there because they have a lot more police (who basically do the same thing UK police do - except that in the UK they might use speeding to stop you then go over the car with a fine tooth comb).
Personally I can understand a couple of MPH over the limit, but in the op's case he was nearly 20 over the limit, or to put it another way 60% over the posted limit which is almost a pity that he wasn't just that 2mph more (at which point the penalty would have been much harsher).
I honestly cannot see how any competent driver can accidentally get that far over the 30 limit.0 -

Depends on the road, in some places they have reduced the speed limits from NSL down to 30 for no apparent reason. Well obviously it makes for some easy nicks.Nothing to see here, move along.0 -

Totally agree, but it also doesnt mean we can just ignore it.0 -

I'm against speeding in a 30/40/50 zone because as I see it, those speed limits are low for a very good reason. I don't want child dirtying up my bumper or an animal messing my windscreen.
I'd happily exceed 70mph limits without a second thought and usually sit around 80-90mph. My opinion is that 70mph is far too slow for motorway driving, I think it would be totally fine them increasing it by 10.
The whole argument about lower speed limits making the roads safer is total garbage, a bad driver is still going to be a bad driver whether they are going 30 or 120mph. People will still tailgate, use a mobile phone and drink drive. We’ve had to remove your signature.
