seems like the regular comps have links to other sites, so should i avoid those? yeah i try to enter some FB comps too if i see them

Hi,all the comps on here will link to other sites.Eg if you click on these two links, here & here,it takes you to a MSE page which then links to a external comp. You then just fill your details in & enter. Then click enter & thanks on the MSe page so you know you have entered it.

Hi glamrochick

Your right, just press thanks to the person who posts, that way the post doesn't get moved up over and over.

I am new to this comping thing also, it's a good, free past time! Happy Comping!

Hi,generally it is usual to click "ENTER" &"THANKS".
By clicking the "ENTER" button you'll get a green tick next to it so you can spot the comps that you have entered.

Some comps from pages 283-285 expired last year :rotfl:

Decided to comp from the last page forward but think I'll be abandoning that idea :rotfl:

My two pennce worth - try setting your page on NEW TOPIC VIEW, that way you will pick up on all the new competitions as they are posted. Get into the swing of that first for a few days. If you find that isn't enough, then go to END DATE VIEW, and find the pages that end in a couple of days time and start to do some of them.
Its easy with the NEW TOPIC VIEW to see where you last left the page with the green ticks from pressing the Entered button.

Hi all.

New(ish) to board and new to comping, but a general Gmail tip that I think really streamlines the process.

A little known fact of gmail is that if you have registered joebloggs@gmail.com you have also registered joe.bloggs, j.o.e.bloggs, joebl.oggs etc. etc. - if you don't believe me e-mail yourself with as many periods in the email as possible (before the @!).

This, combined with the really useful filtering aspects of Gmail means you can essentially have a second inbox JUST for comping. It gets better though, because with the filters you can tell it to send nothing on that filter to spam, thus increasing your chances of notification you've won, and decreasing time scouring spamboxes for compo info.

I'll show you what I mean with Joe Bloggs.
Joe Bloggs' e-mail address is and always has been joebloggs@gmail.com - he uses it for work, home, everything.

Every comp he enters, he inputs the e-mail address j.oebloggs@gmail.com - this in itself won't help but it's the important bit.

In Gmail he clicks "Create filter" (to the right of the search bar) and in the next screen in the "To" box he types j.oebloggs@gmail.com. He then clicks "next step"

On the next screen he ticks "Skip the inbox", "Apply the label" and from the dropdown box he selects "New label...." and writes "comps", then he selects "never mark as spam" and finally clicks "create filter".

From now on to the left of his inbox should be a link that says "comps" that will bold and give a number of unreads every time he receives a comping related e-mail, the emails to j.oebloggs will never be spam filtered and they wont, clog up his inbox!

Sorry if this has been said before, I haven't spotted it, and I thought it might be some use to people who hate monitoring two inboxes.

Cheers
