I don't know if they cause problems as such. To me there's a difference between a company who want to sell you their products and so run competitions and companies who want to sell your data and so run competitions. I tend to avoid the latter and so like to know which is which. I was wondering if other people felt the same.

The only data they have is name and address. You can update your profile to say no to third party contact, which I would think covers it.

A number of Be Addictive comps have been posted today. It's worth noting that the site is owned by Addictive Interactive and they are Data Collectors.

Does anyone agree that it would be a good idea to ask Velvet Glove to add a Data Collectors sublist to her Spam list?

If you have been entering the Dirt Bike Rider comps which have been posted on MSE for quite a few years now then you will allready be supplying your information to Be Addictive as they are one of there partners

I have been entering the Dirt Bike Rider comps every since they where first posted on MSE and I don't think that they have caused any problems

if you do decide to enter the BE Addictive comps you can use your Dirt Bike Rider username and password so that any accumulated Loyalty Points are transferred over I have 420 points at present

    Best of Luck :)

A lot of them are chavvy teenagers...ignore!! They were getting all whiney yesterday because someone claimed to have won twice (a lie) and they accused More magazine of favouritism. It's all so childish.

And you make an excellent point there with your last sentence...;)

A lot of more! fans aren't actually chavvy teenagers, please don't tar us all with the same brush. People are getting annoyed because more! themselves said these prizes are for their fans, and those who have never even looked at a copy of more! mag are entering.

As Al says the trick is to give these company's as little information as possible

the Dirt Bike Rider and BE Adictive sites are a bit like the Funky ones where you can choose to make your profile private and also opt out of third party contact

go into update profile and choose the private settings and de-select the options in red

Note that More Magazine say Fans and not readers

you can become a fan of More Magazine by liking them on Facebook,Twitter and by subscribing to there Live Bookmarks and you can also interact with them and enter there competitions at www.moremagazine.co.uk so you don't actually have to subscribe to and read there magazine to enter there comps all that you need to be is a fan of there magazine

and unlike some of the ill mannered and greedy lot on Facebook who would much prefer to keep all of the prizes to themselves

I wish you all the very Best of Luck :)

    Hi All,

I don't know if anyone can help, I probably need someone who is "twitter-savvy"........ I am trying to "follow" Gocompare on twitter in order to enter their competition. I am definitely signed in to Twitter (I have even signed out and in again several times to be sure) but when I click on "follow", nothing happens. This has happened to me once before with another comp and I eventually gave up but I really want to enter this one.

Any ideas as to why I can't "follow" them? TIA :)

Hi, just wondered if anyone could help me with facebook comp info or if there is a thread someone could direct me to with info and instuctions! I have done a search but couldn't find what I was looking for. Basically I have not being entering the facebook comps as I do not have an account but have just set myself up with an account but I am not sure what to do next. I will only be using the account for entering competitions, do I need to have friends on there and how do I go about entering competitions through facebook if I see them on here? Sorry if I am sounding really dim, I just have no idea how it works, thanks!

Start there ^^^ add those on the thread, I'm on there (somewhere).
    Thanks to all posters :A
  • Could anyone advise me on where to get free postcards? Are there any websites that do this?
I have searched my local TK Maxx and Cinema and had no luck :(

    Thanks in advance :)

You can make them yourself from old Birthday or Christmas cards, white card from clothing or you could buy a pack of 100 index cards, they're a lot cheaper than postcards.

    Hi Madmissi,

You've been a member since March. Just wondered if you've entered any comps from other mags and sites you've seen on MSE?
