has anyone noticed that some comp on facebook name winners that are not on their friend list or answered the question(on the comment comps) some are from big companys. is this normal or are they avoiding giving out any prizes0
-
Some of them run their comps across Facebook and Twitter so the winner may be from their0

Just wanted to remind everyone not to be afraid to challenge the big companies.
Marks & Spencers had excluded entrants from Northern Ireland on their comp on Facebook (the finders keepers one).
I posted on their wall asking why - they replied with the usual corporate blurb - due to competition rules etc etc. I posted again asking them to give me the exact rules that excluded NI, Channel Islands and Isle of Man? No response. Posted again. This morning, I got a response stating the comp was now open to people from Northern Ireland! Pays to be persistent! Now all I need to do is win :rotfl:

NPN is a legal requirement according to competitions laws in NI (ie, you must be able to enter a competition without purchase). This law does not exist in England, Scotland or Wales as far as I am aware.
A lot of companies think they can just exclude entries from NI with a feeble "due to competition laws" - which don't actually exist.
IMHO there is no reason whatsoever for a company that trades in Northern Ireland, to exclude customers there from competitions, just because they feel like it2015 wins: Nokia Lumia 735 Smartphone0 -

Some Facebook users have their profile set so that only their Friends (or Friends of Friends) can see their posts, rather than set to 'Everyone'. If they enter a competition, the promoter will see their entry but nobody else will (unless they're a friend of that person!). To the promoter, these 'private' profile comments will appear on a grey background rather than a blue background - although I don't think promoters are aware of the significance of this, and presume that all comments are visible to everyone!
Hope this helps.0 -
I found a thread on here about people setting up separate facebook accounts purely for comping but I can't seem to find it. Search just brings up lots of facebook comps! Don't suppose anyone's got a link?0
