Can i just remind people that there are sticky threads for general chat and announcements and to keep the main board clear for comps only:)

    Hello everyone!

What do you think when people comment underneath competition with reasons why they deserve to win? Do you make comments? Do you think they give you a better chance of winning? (I know they rarely start with "I should win because..." but I couldn't think of another description for them!)

For example, I read one the other day about someone's relative being in hospital alot recently and how they would love the prize. I find myself being really cycnical and often not believing the comments as some of them are v.personal involving people dying or with serious illness.

Just wondering what others think really :o

I dont enter competitions that make you beg for the prize.

I have difficulty with this sort of competition too, I think some of them just pick a number and whoever's post it is wins, never been me though. My posts are a bit boring.....please enter me, would love to win, etc etc.

The thing that annoys me though is that if you google for your wins, all the comments show up, though you have not won at all.

"This set of knives looks great, and I really need some new ones as my ex ran off with my last one. He should have pulled it out of his back before he left"

    I hate that too.

Like the previous poster says, it feels like begging, so I tend to avoid these. Plus which, I wouldn't feel comfortable sharing any personal information with a company or making things up either.
