Can anyone help us? Ive been gardening away and we have a lot of beautiful bamboo plants, but as most of you know they need culling every so often. So was happily thinning them out and a bird box fell off the fence. We have many, cos we love our birds but i had a quick look and the entrance was covered with cobwebs so I knew no birds were in there making their wee nest.

However, suddenly a load of bees started buzzing round (rush inside) :o just had another look and it seems that bees have made it their home. I love bumble bees, we have many plants in the garden to help them, but fair enough - they are getting a wee bit angry that i have dislodgd their home. Understandable.

At the mo the said bird/spider/bees house is in the middle of the lawn and i have a place i can move it to but how without upsetting the residents!!!! :o Put big gardening gloves on to lift it up but decided that was a no no, the bees werent impressed!!! Had thought of trying to lift it up on a spade and transport it quickly to a safer place - dont know what to do. :o Should i wait a while to let them settle? Any advice would be great!

Just saw the news and a woman was beheaded in a supermarket in Tenerife - in the resort we always stay in (Los Cristianos). Really scary to read about it. Sounds like it was a nutter who did it and they have got him.

Many thanks anyway :) - we have tried to make our garden bee/butterfly/bird friendly - and welcome to any other critters that come our way - ladybirds and such. Wasnt expecting bees in the bird house tho!!! :rotfl::rotfl:

Such is life - love it. New experience every day.! The bees are settled now and finding their way to their 'new' address. All is well. Just got a wee bit of chopping up all the bamboo!!!!! Save most as i can - very handy for garden - propping up toms, peas, beans etc - never get rid of owt if i can use it!!! :D xxxxxx

I just saw that on news sheils about that poor woman, how awful :(

Glad you sorted out your garden/bees problem alfie :) I wish I was good at gardening :o I'm getting plagued by pidgeons in my garden lately! There's a bloke down the road who breeds them.

Angeleyes, the way I do a clicky is by copying the link I want paste then in the box where we type put something such as 'clicky' then highlight it, then click on the globe pic above next to the text colours 'A' and delete the http// then right click and paste and press ok. :) It seems tricky but is easy once you've done it once! :D

My son is back from trip so it's back to being a mad house again!

PPD, hope you manage to catch up with comps & good luck with the holiday hunting ;)
