Sorry, I have nothing to contribute on the lighting front. We have strip fluorescents in the kitchen and compact fluorescents everywhere else, except for two lamps in the bedroom that are LED (and terrible for reading by).

I am going back to work tomorrow

I went in for my desk assessment and they have fitted me a monitor that raises right up to standing height and a raiser for my mouse and keyboard. It looks like it's all going to be okay. They need to get me a cushion to sit down but I think I should be fine standing, so I'm going to give it a shot. All terribly nicey nicey and adamant that it was all just one giant misunderstanding,

The change in attitude literally overnight is amazing :rotfl:

Quite p:eek:ed off that they already had the monitor anyway. So there was the solution to my problems all this time, just sat in a cupboard doing nothing :wall:
But the important thing is that I'm back. There was a vague acknowledgement that there is a bit of 'history' with beyatch boss that may have contributed. Well, I'm going to make sure I'm back at work properly then let the union sort that side of things out. I might not be guaranteed the earnings back that I've lost but I hope might get some of them. I just want to be back, and not to have issues with my workspace and not to have issues with beyatch boss. That's all.

Not sure if there has been much gossiping, it's hard to tell because so many people are on the phone when its busy, but I got a lovely welcome from some of my colleagues (alas! not part of my team) and I think they were pleased to see me :A

Anyway just wanted to thank everyone again for all the lovely support you've given me. I know it sounds daft but I do think you've helped me to stay strong. The drinks are on me! :beer:

Oh I know! Most of my RL friends think I'm really sad and strange! I got the New Look £1 bargain again today. It's a T shirt, didn't look all that in the shop and I thought the sizing was funny, but I've tried it on and I think it's already one of my favourite tops! Told my mate to hotfoot it down there and bag herself one, she said she doesn't like using vouchers because the sales assistant will think she's a skank.

Is there two letters in the bar along the bottom of your screen? If so, check they're set to 'EN' so it knows the keyboard layout?

Otherwise I'm out of ideas. One of the techys will know straight away though...

Skint but Optimistic - thanks very much; the F11 thing doesn't work but holding Fn while typing the letter does which means I can write sense. Thanks too to everyone else for your suggestions.
