I don't really have any major regrets. Perhaps to have saved more money but then we would not have had some of the great experiences that we have enjoyed. I feel very happy in my skin and I would say I am much more content now I am in my late 40's. I think rejecting consumerism and appreciating the important things in life.

One thing I am glad about is that when dh and I had a rocky period a few years ago, we toughed it out. Now I cannot imagine not being with him, but at the time I would plan a life without him in my head.

My soda bread is done and the cookies are in the oven. I was going to freeze the extra loaf but I am sending round to a friend who has just had a knee op. My weeding will have to wait. I cleaned the shower room instead. I plan to get some ironing done this evening before we watch the Apprentice.

I think I've only ever heard the chorus to this in films (like most people, probably!), and actually, this could be our OS anthem! Supporting each other, working hard and then (hopefully) reaping our reward.

I hope nobody finds that blasphemous or anything by the way, it's just that I feel it could apply to earthly as well as heavenly endeavours!

Jedi a VERY happy birthday to you. No matter how old we are, nothing is more upsetting than having people forget your birthday. I always take mine as a holiday now, as you could guarantee a carp day at work with all the barstewards who had been circling but doing nothing moving in for the kill if you went in on that day. Or so it seemed ;)

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

On an OS note - have 6 mini courgettes on our plants! Must be all that free horse poo that we hauled there in January/February that has done the trick
