I stocktaked my entire kitchen of groceries.

My biggest problem is my foraging last year.
Still have over 20bags of plums and some cherries.
Dont even like either than much.
    Theyreally getting in the way.

I have to use them before this years crop starts.

so apart from jam trying to think what to do with plums

Need to go poundstretcher for some cheap lolly moulds as they fab idea for summer made withfresh fruit juices.

Not sure if someone has suggested this yet, coz I'm still playing catch-up on the Thread (one of the lurkers! LOL!)

But I think you may've answered your own question here Gailey - poach your foraged fruit right down with lotsa sugar, blitz it if it's a bit lumpy (removing stones if necessary!) and fill those ice lolly moulds!

Will count as 1 of the kids' 5-a-day too! (AND yours if you fancy!)

Had word from landlord and they very unhappy, basically told me I had to find somewhere else and be gone by Thursday, I explained that it was not possible and apologised, but they were not budging.
Solicitor says we won't get a date till at least next week and not to expect to be out by next rent period either. It never rains but it pours.:)

((HUGS)) Kidcat - what a stressful time for you. Its good that you know where you stand legally - a lot of landlords seem to think that if they spit their dummies out that their tenant will just bow down and comply

Spent a chilly hour at the lottie covering up potatoes, courgettes etc against the forecasted frost - the bl**dy thistles have sprung up again overnight in profusion so will have to take the hoe up tomorrow and zap 'em.

OH's work collegue has grown too many tomato plants for his own use and has offered us some :j Will repay him later in the year with chutneys/preserves.

I'm on Day Two of Choc-Free living - weighed in at 13st 5lb the other morning  heaviest that I've ever been in life and now spurred on by the news that being overweight is linked to Alzhemiers Disease, I'm aiming to lose three stones at least and will be able to wear all my thin clothes again :rotfl:I will post my weigh loss/gain on my signature bar as an incentive to keep going!

Thanks Jackie, working things out slowly, early days yet.

Have had an expensive two days. MIL was 80 yesterday and DD was 15 today. Went out for a lovely pub meal last night with MIL and immediate family and to Pizza Hut tonight for DD.

Washing machine door broke on thursday with a wet load inside it. Repair man could not come until today so I have been putting the washing through a cycle every day to stop it from going wiffy.

Went back to work today after my annual leave and feel really tired tonight so will be off to bed shortly.

Have been working hard in the garden and have now planted out everything except the plants that are affected by the frost and will do them about the third week of May. Have used 2 ltr pop botles as mini cloches and they are working really well. The cauli's are really thriving under them and they are reducing the amount of watering that I am having to do. Have collected some 2 and 4 ltr milk cartond from work today so that I can try GreyQueens irrrigation tips as that also seems a very effective way of reducing the amount of water needed by putting it into the roots as opposed to on the surface where it will evaporate away.

I have a relative who works for a well known supermarket, who sent me about 100 packets of seeds left over from the recent promption in a daily paper. Would you believe they were just throwing them away because the promotion had finished:eek:. Anyway have distributed them among friends and colleagues who all seemed pleased. Some of them have gone to a rainbows and a brownies group for a project for them.

Went as a seller to a big carboot on Sunday and made nearly £70 selling stuff that had been in the attic for years, so was very please with that result.
I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.

I am all for keeping a stock pile but think this is a step too far for me  Not to mention the 6 hours she spent planning a single shopping trip and 2 hours going through the checkout......sorry but I've got a life to lead :o

juliethemuse,i sympathise,i have been dieting recently ,by eating 9 portions of veg and fruit a day and protein, cutting out bread, potatoes, pasta rice cakes and bics and brkfast cereal. it doesnt leave a lot of room for anything else. i lost 6 lb, yes, go me! trouble is i cant afford it and have started back on the cheap carbs and 4lb has gone backon. i could cry.

I find dieting expensive too. I try to eat my five portions of fruit and veg but it doesn't fill me up and too keep eating more and more of it is beyond my budget. The thing is that as soon as I know I am trying to diet, I feel hungry and crave stodgy fattening stuff.
