I try to think of it as a combination of insulation and protective padding;)
Ah yes, of course - I forgot that it saves on heating bills and spending on expensive warm clothing as well.
And not to leave out the fact that I could quite make a yurt (and therefore somewhere to live) out of any skirt large enough to encompass my rear end! :rotfl:I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

Wilkinsons do mothballs, cedar balls and mouse traps if that helpsBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

This is the last day of sunshine, we should all get outside and dig one last time.. I got the OH to clear my much-loved rockery and we put in turnip seeds. I felt very 1940 ish ! When I tell you that we're digging trenches and air raid shelters you can phone for a wee yellow van

I too am dieting, I'm not generally overly bothered about my weight (DH and I have a theory that the reason fat people generally have a cheerful disposition is because they've just had a nice dinner
) but I have booked myself 2 weeks work somewhere new at the end of the month (the new business is proving slower to get started than anticipated) and the thought of somebodies first impression of me being 'who is that fat slob/how on earth did she get pregnant at her age' fills me with horror
I am cheating though as I bought myself a 2 week supply of Al li. My thinking is that I won't eat more fat than allowed if I know that a) I am wasting my £30 and b) I stand a good chance of oil leaking out of my bottom :eek:Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -

I can never keep up with these threads, they move so quickly! Anyway I popped some potatoes in the ground the other day that were sprouting, my first attempt so hoping it turns out ok.
My mum does tomatoes, cucumbers etc and I always get a massive load of them so I won't. I'm going to pick up some lettuce seeds as well as chives and others sort of herbs, at 50p a lettuce that lasts a few days for me and LO it can become costly during the summer so hoping that if I can do my own it'll work out.
I really hope that costs don't soar, I can't really afford it to go any higher! I only just discovered approved foods last week and placed and order, £20 including delivery for a huge amount of stuff which I'm sharing with my mum so will keep and eye out and make an order maybe once a month to keep treats and stuff in whilst keeping costs down.
Knitting has been my new found 'luxury'. I buy cheapish wool and do as much as I can, after last winter and realising I need to do something to avoid a huge bill I'm making slankets for me and the LO, knitted inside and possibly a fleecy outer, if not I'll chop up the huge amount of clothes I have stashed to keep us cosy.
These boards are definately helping to keep costs down and make everything stretch!
is it as easy as that with potatoes? we've always got random spuds lurking at the back of cupboards that are ripe for the planting! xxEvery act of kindness, no matter how small, isn’t wasted ❤️

No download caps, (which a lot of BB providers have) uninterrupted connection at superb speed and the call centres are UK based and free and they're extremely helpful in every way
we were with o2 until we moved house and we never really had any problems with them at all. one thing to watch out for when you leave them tho, is that they ask you for the modem back. They send out SAE for you to send it back in, but if you dont they charge you about £50 for the loss.
i have to reiterate that we never had any probs with them at all, and as we got the modem back to them in time it was't an issue. xxEvery act of kindness, no matter how small, isn’t wasted ❤️

Hello all,
Jojo :rotfl: I'm also of the shape which would require a King sized duvet as opposed to a pillow case to make a dress, as in earlier posts.
Have had a very scary Easter break thanks to 'the ancient one' having a bad reaction to a routine prescribed worming tablet. Thought we'd just let him go as didn't want him to suffer. Vet also expected the worst but between phoning and him getting there he'd perked up and she was so relieved and reassured us his organs are still ok. Of course he was fine between bank holidays but then refused to eat last weekend. Next day he was happily munching through home made Spag Bol and rice. Junior most envious and having to make do with the usual saw dust balls.
I won't even go into how your kids can upset you and use you as a doormat as I've read you all know exactly what I mean.
As for ex's - mine happily told me that breaking up with his new girl friend was so much worse than breaking up with me. When I enquired why he'd married me he said "well I've had so many failed relationships and I knew I wouldn't have to pay a mortgage (I inherited my grandparents house) and I thought you'd make a good wife"!!! During the divorce he wanted half of said house so he could buy one to have the children. He didn't get what he wanted, would never have all the kids (4) at the same time and has never had a lasting relationship. Says it all I think. Good luck Bertie, do what's right for you and the kids.
So what with sickly dog and poor old DH having to sort out his Mum's blocked drains over several days of his holiday, I have to admit to over spending on little treats to try and cheer ourselves up a bit. Must get a grip again and make a proper weeks meal plan instead of just having the quickest and easiest. With three different diets to cook it's quite a challenge anyway but hopefully the old boy is stable on his new soft food (dog not DH:rotfl:) so should get back to normality this week.
Love all your posts. Take care folks."It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life, gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are." Unknown0 -
I just thought I'd pop on and say a huge thankyou to you all. I went shopping last night and kept my OS head on and between changing supermarkets and looking for bargains I reckon I saved about £40. I nearly fell over when the checkout woman told me the total - I thought she'd forgot to scan half my shopping
I know I'm a bit behind but I just thought I would put in my two-pennies. I think you should move to a house with a garden. OH and I are in the same position - ie a 1 bed flat with really high factors bills etc and it's very close to the city centre so all our bills a high, we're waiting for a job to come through for him (which is on the cards) and then we will be trying to move to a house with a garden. All your talk of growing your own really makes me jealous and I can't wait to move. The extra space would be great too.
GreyQueen Love your mole-scapades :rotfl:
JackieGlasgow Thanks for the recipe link
Sammy Cute picture
raphanius thanks for the book link
Looks like I'm joining you all in the WL front too. My [STRIKE]diet [/STRIKE]healthy eating started today (again) and I'm starting my couch to 5 k tonight - I figure it'll cut down on the food bills. Now if I could just get OH to give up smoking
