Softstuff, When you are coming, can you make it the southeast pretty please? Desperate for rain here. I remember this time last year being on the allotment and having so much mud on my boots that I could hardly lift my feet!!!! Now I can go up and just keep my trainers on.

Jediteacher Hope baby makes an appearance soon. It is so frustrating when you expect that they are going to help you out, and they say 'oh, and extra few days doesn't make any difference'. ' well does when you can hardly walk!

Hope your day gets better Mardartha. If it's any consolation it has rained here every day in May so far. :( It's cool here too (highs of 11) and the wind is blowing all the blossom of the trees. :o
I still wouldn't live anywhere else though and neither would you. ;):D

I'm trying to clear the freezer again so am being creative with meals this weekend as one of our food shops has a huge sale on tomorrow. I've found lots of kippers so kippers for breakfast and I'll make some kipper pate. There are also bags of sloes, wild raspberries and brambles from last season which I'll get into kilner jars with some gin to free up some more space and I should have nice, mature fruit gins for Christmas presents. :)

I think the garden is up to date, veggie wise, though I should probably earth up the spuds if OH can get some compost out of the bin for me and the hens need cleaned out but I have 2 small children in mind to deal with that. :D

    Enjoy your days everyone. :)

Well, if it isn't too late, it'll definitely rain in 11 days over the whole of England. I'm saying that because that's when I'm over and rain follows me. I arrived in Australia and we switched from drought to flood, quite literally. It's now winter, which is traditionally dry even when they're in the wet cycle of weather, and it's been raining pretty solidly for about 4 days now. All of this and I live on what is named "The Sunshine Coast".

So, in 11 days, get your rainhats and brollies ready, because you're in for a deluge.
:D Hah! So that's the explanation, is it? Never mind El Nino, we have El Softie. You bring those clouds on, hun, and I'll be very happy.

I'm bored as my t'internet connection is trying to download something a bit big and taking forever about it. Will ride shotgun on the PC until it's here then head to the lottie to chisel some weeds and coucn grass out of the Alpine Carrot Bed (don't ask) which will become the Squash Section.

    Have a good day y'all.

    Bake Off Boss!
    Morning everybody!

Had a lie in this morning as didn't feel very motivated to get up for some reason.
Have got 'lucky dip lunch' today from the freezer. Took the first container from the freezer that I came across with some unidentified stew like item in it. Thought that will do so that is defrosting in the kitchen & I have started a loaf off in the breadmaker. So lunch will be freezer stew with fresh made bread. Looking forward to that.

Off to buy my weekly newspaper then I'm going to list a few items on ebay as it's free listing weekend on private accounts. So if anybody was thinking of listing on ebay today & tomorrow are the days to do it if you want to sell by auction with a higher starting price than 99p.

My weather forecast. I don't think I can go on !!!

"A depression out in the Atlantic early on Monday looks to deepen and race NE close to NW Scotland during Monday afternoon and evening, which will bring a spell of very windy and wet conditions across much of Scotland and the far north of England later on Monday and into early Tuesday. There is potential here for wind gusts of 60-70mph across Scotland, the far north of England and perhaps the northern coasts of Northern Ireland. With most trees in full leaf, there is potential for tress to be brought down. Also the risk of disruption to transport and power networks. Netweather will monitor the situation closely..."

I'll blame you then Softstuff if we get absolutely deluged hereabouts - errr...followed by "Wonder if that means Softstuff is around my area then and might like to meet for a cup of coffee somewheres (and if shes checking in t'Internet at all whilst here...)"

Hope you have a good visit here.

Thanks Ceridwen. I have no internet access whilst in England, but will be mostly around Lancaster. I was planning to travel south a bit this visit, but if my friend carries on as is I'll be in the Royal Lancaster Infirmary every other day. So if anyone around there fancies a teensy old style meet at the beginning of June I'm in.

Softstuff, I'm calling border control and telling them not to let you in! We need some warm sunshine in Manchester, not more rain, thank you very much!

I'm sorry, but they've searched me every time they've had the opportunity, and there was nothing to find then and there'll be nothing to find now :p Random search be damned.

I've managed to change weather conditions on an entire continent, I don't think I need to travel to the southeast to be effective there. Though I am open to bribes of any English choccy and tesco value toothpaste.

You can rely on me. At least I don't have the luck of my mother, who when she travels creates natural disasters wherever she goes (flood, freak storms, earthquake, erupting volcano....).

    Hiya Softstuff

So you're coming to see your ill friend then in the event. Now THAT is what I call being a good friend (a very good friend at that) to her. Good for you - and hope you manage to have some enjoyable time (as well as seeing your friend in those circumstances) time.

Maybes we'll meet up some other time ....

    (((Take care)))

It's been like that here for days now it's flippin' Winter again, this time last year I was just coming out of hospital and it was absolutely scorching hot. It was so windy here the other daythat somehow it blew the rain in under the the roof tiles and then we had water running through the kitchen ceiling :( (we live in a bungalow) OH went into the loft and checked but there are no leaky pipes and no lost or cracked slates so it must have been the severe winds lifting them up. There was just a tiny wet patch on in the loft but we got half a bucket in the kitchen.Luckily we spotted it in time and OH made a hole for it to drain through or we'd have had the ceiling down. Now all there is to fix is a wee hole, paste the paper back down and repaint as the it went brown where the water was gathering, phew! Just looking out of the window now and the rain is loooking sleety, nooooooo!!!!
