I know, if you help yourself, then no one wants to know. It is one thing that really gets my back up.

Don't get me wrong, I don't know what's around the corner for me, and I may need help at one time or another. But it seems just because you work, and may own (mortgage!) your own home, then it's tough. Not meaning to offend anyone, like I said above I may need help one day, and I know everyones circumstances are different.

I was listening to some people complain recently as it was only £2.80 of fruit/veg etc - and they needed at least £10 - then they nipped out for a ciggie....

Personally never had milk tokens as my partner works but I do agree one tin per week is not enough (perhaps it is to boost bf rates??). After I stopped bf my son needed 2 tins per week as he had reflux - he lost weight on just one tin per week.

I assume that the idea of this is to improve the health of children from families on benefit. What about the children from families that do not qualify and are not fed healthy foods? There are many parents who don't claim benefits who buy the cheaper and unhealthier options. This scheme should be available to all simply to ensure that ALL children are "given the best start in life".

my milk tokens used to arrive about every 6 weeks. This made it impossible to use with milkman.
I gave up using them altogether after feeling like I was being stigmatised at local supermarket.
I didnt choose my ex husband to walk out for a tart hes now knocked up or leave me with a small baby.I was married yet still the cashiers make you feel like a leper and always have to ask if they can accept it.
My youngest is now thankfully at school so I no longer receive them.

I used to get milk tokens, but stopped when I went back to work. Why is it if you claim WTC (because of low income!) you're not entitled to anything. I'm not even entitled to free chool meals because of it - even though judging by the looks of the parents in the playground, they must get a heck of alot more than me whilst they're sat at home.

I cant agree more every child should be entitled to a healthy start regardless off income, why just low income families? surley there children are no diffrent to any others!!!
