  • I know I'm supposed to be studying but I went in the kitchen to put the kettle on (cant study with out a cuppa ;)) and discovered the lovely chili I made yesterday (lentils, carrot, sweetpotato, mince - very MSE) STILL on the counter
Now it was still cooling down at about 3pm yesterday and left out cos baging up is a 2 person job.

I've bagged it. (with MUCH mess) But the question is:

    Would you eat it??
its been on the counter all this time!

    it's ten flipping portions :(
Dog turned it's nose up at the scrapes in the pan :(

    i :(

    hi

well - how hot / cold was the room it was in? was it in the sun on the counter? was the lid on?

i have frozen and then eaten things mainy times that have been left out all night / evening....

i reckon we all have very healthy immune systems in our house and can cope - especially if it had lots of immune boosting vits in it and garlic and chilli, i would freeze but write on it to make sure you cook it very well on high to kill anything suspect...

but if it had been sitting in full sun, i am not sure...

nixie I'd eat it. I often leave things out overnight to cool. Never poisoned anybody that I know of ;)

  • Thanks guys :)

I've lobbed it in the freezer.
The kitchen's not overly warm and I was Freeeeezing last night (hmmm I still am) wasnt in sun, no lid either though.
I'm a serial Over heater when it comes to leftovers :D so no worries there.

If it was winter I wouldn't have asked, I just wondered, you know, with spring coming and all :)

    Thanks again :)

washing on the line, cuppa in hand, DW on hot wash but empty (It's not cleaning great) dishes in the sink waiting for me to finish my cuppa.

Changing study time to 3pm today :)
I think I had one of them vanishing days yesterday - so the lounge needs doing too (whooops)
walked the mutts by my self this morning too :) have to do one at a time cos they're all mental. Thought that beagle was coming through the lounge window when I took Shadow  All wiped out now though (and so am I!)

Of course.. I probably would have left it there until tomorrow then frozen it.. cos i'm organised like that!

Dogs tend not to like chilli very much.
