Hi Gothicfairy,
I do mine in the slow cooker. Put in on a trivet...metal biscuit cutter will do the same job..add water to come about half way up the pudding dish. Cook on high for 2-3 hours depending on your particular slow cooker.

Oh you star.. I did search the forum but it returned nothing when I did it so that is amazing. Thank you very much and I am very glad I will be able to eat them after all.There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;

I did steamed puds in mine from scratch a couple of weeks ago, worked a treat, so I would imagine yours would be fine.
I did put it on keep warm by accident though, rather than high, so make sure you have it on the right setting, or you'll be waiting 3 hours like us!
Would have taken about an hour and a half I reckon, with out the drama at the begining.
Good luck, and if you have a hankering for them afterwards, I have 4 mini pud basins from lakeland, and made up all the mixture for the steamed pud in the bero recipe book, and it filled them nicely, put a bit of stewed apple and half a tbs of toffee sauce in the bottom, mixture on top, delish!0
