I noticed they had to ring me on my mobile as no doubt there is no reply from the registered number.
That's quite funny....What did they say when you asked them to call you on that number?

I'm sure BT rep will be around soon.

I don't think they really understand what the problem is, I think they rang the home number thought I had gone out and rang the mobile!!!!

I just feel sorry for whoever is getting all my messages, as some of them are apparently quite shirty because they think I am in and just not answering.

There's also the BT Company Representative's webmail form:

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Just a thought here.....Does your broadband still work? Is it with BT? Are you using the phone that is directly plugged into the master socket to call out or the DECT phone they supplied or one that is plugged into the router?

Thanks Heniz, filled in and sent off.

I wonder why I am so stressed with this and I realise its because I can't actually speak to anyone at BT or write to a person instead its filling in forms and speaking to a call centre. My only option is to have to sit back and wait for them to contact me. When I am contacted its usually been by someone who hasn't really read the problem or happy to solve it.

I am left hanging on the line!

HappyMJ - I am still on the internet at home and luckily it is still working otherwise I think I would have exploded. This makes this whole thing so odd.

Not really. Broadband quite often remains working even when a landline appears competely 'dead'.

I wouldn't be putting the phone down to them until they agreed to look in to the issue. If you get no joy, escalate it to a manager.

When phoning them, are you using the approach "have you changed my number....."?

I used to work for BT, in the faults department, and this sure does sound like a crossed line.

Call BT again, on 151, report a fault on the line. Until they have raised it as a fault, and given you a reference number, don't give up. If you have to, esculate it to a manager, or a senior technician.

Shane UK - it would be lovely to get to the stage of asking them if they have changed my number!!!!

I have rang 150 twice now, after the performance of pressing 1 and then 2 and then 1 and then listening to their messages I get through to a call centre somewhere I guess in India. I have asked to be transferred to faults in the UK and they are unable to do this. I don't want to go through the whole saga as explaining it has I already have done this twice and it gets me nowhere.

Even more irritating is the fact that they want me to answer some questions on my thoughts re customer care!

I have asked for the Manager last time I was rung - he is suppose to be ringing me back.

I know I sound like a spolit sour puss but this is really the final straw this is the second time I have had to deal with BT in a short space of time when it hasn't been my fault. I seem to spend hours getting wound up.

But thanks ShaneUK I do appreicate the support I could just throttle BT.
