Woohoo!! bigger mortgage payment this month...had a complete budget reshuffle once I had opened new ISA, and have put all leftover cash from a variety of areas together to make the payment. Still a long way off my July 11 target, but its been an expensive couple of months so no big surprise there.... I will just try to get to my annual target still, if I can, I will exceed it!!

I am happy with my progress and I have realised that I am really putting a lot of money a month towards this.... once I have paid off my mortgage it really won't take long to have enough cash to get my house sorted and have my 6 month break to Italy.....I really can't wait  _party_ :T
Its funny but the realisation that I could have enough cash within two years of paying off my mortgage to be able to have my house practically rebuilt is just so motivating..... I must have thought of it before, but it never really sunk in....now it has, I really want to get there sooner..... Its like an enormous lightbulb moment for me:idea::idea::idea::laugh:
So, onwards and upwards.....going to really push the boat out for the rest of the month and see how much more I can put towards the pig.....:DCurrent Mortgage - £66,601  MFW No 74

have been looking at places that we want to go when the mortgage is paid off......:D found some fabulous villas in sardinia and sicily  had a long talk with dh too and we are really going to throw everything we can at this over the next six months to try to get back on track..... in six months we will have paid off a couple of things which will give us an additional £100 a month to throw at it..:T I am very much hoping that I can get this all paid off within a shorter period of time than the 5 years we were originally hoping to do.... just got to be really good over the next couple of years :A
making ratatouille today....had a couple of courgettes, an aubergine, a couple of carrots, red onions, a yellow pepper, green pepper, garlic, tin of tomatoes, the end of a bottle of rose and a load of fresh herbs from the garden...... nom nom!! also made a soup from some leftover squash and adzuki bean saute, half a red pepper, red onion, garlic, carrot, cinnamon, ginger and mace.....tastes fab and have made hm bread to go with it.....
have put all my spare cash in the pig....am going to open it at the end of december and then transfer it all to either the isa or savings account...... only another 12 months at my current mortgage rate and op allowance, once it turns back to repayment I will clear all the op's out of the accounts and pay it off the capital :j:j:j
I am feeling really positive at the moment and am going to get some pictures of the villas we like printed out and placed strategically in my house and car! Got to be totally focused on this from now on!!

 yet another light-bulb moment!!:T
We have worked out that as of 1st July 2011, with the OP's currently budgeted for, we will have 42 months left on our mortgage!!:j
We have also worked out that an additional £34.02 takes a day off that...... so that means that every £1.42 another hour closer to my mortgage being paid!! It makes a real difference to my attitude to money - whether that be spending or saving..... I have a time frame which is tangible and that doesn't feel a lifetime away and also a real desire to acheive it earlier :rotfl:
I have found out that the ISA calculates interest daily so I have opened my 'sealed' tins and counted it all and I have £107 in there so thats over three days wiped off straight away!!!!:j:j:j (3.14!!) just another few of those and I will have wiped another month off it in no time...:D
Its very exciting..... I feel that I am really invested in this now....mainly because three and a half years seems like no time at all..... come January we will be below three years left and if it goes as quickly as this year seems to have done so far, I will be mortgage free before I even notice it!!:T:T:TCurrent Mortgage - £66,601  MFW No 74

pay day for me yesterday so I have transferred the mortgage OP to my ISA :j when the july payment is made that will bring me £65 over target :T I also may have a little extra to throw at it in a few days time, it just depends on how well I do over the next couple of weeks......
I am really pleased with my progress to date...i am totally on budget and the ave stuck to my plan pretty much over the past couple of weeks....i am going to spend some money on my garden though...I have a friend who has some time on his hands and has offered to do the labour for me for free..... :j its an opportunity too good to pass up so I am going to spend what is needed on the materials. I have set a budget and intend to stick to it....its a justified spend for me, I want to spend a lot of time at home to minimise my expenditure - having it all completed in a month rather than the entire year is definately a bonus in my eyes.... :T:D:D
Anyhoo, onwards and upwards, a good day today with lots of progress on tying up loose ends. I have updated my budget and am happy with this months progress to date....hopefully, I can add to it throughout the month!! :A
I will make a meal plan later today, I have an extra mouth or two to feed this month, so I really have to be canny in using what I already have to satisfy a group of seven adults!!!:eek::eek:

start of another day.....looking forward to having a quiet weekend this weekend....I have totally fried my brain over the past couple of weeks and am really looking forward just to relaxing and having an expense free chill out over the next couple of days.....just got to get through today at work and then I will kick back with a couple of drinks (already have them in the house!!) and a good book and do nothing other than a quick house clean for the whole of the weekend!!!:D
Had a bit of a nightmare day yesterday.....having been really proud of myself for getting my mortgage op done and sorting my budget, I looked at my bank balance and had a nervous breakdown....I had totally forgotten about £150 that I had spent on my card a couple of days ago!!!!! :eek:Have had to have a quick re-jig to get myself into a better position and it means that instead of a nil balance on my credit card, I have about £160 left on it..... Despite being a bit miffed, I have learnt a valuable lesson.....my memory is too rubbish to be able to pay for things on card.....cash only for me from now on!!!
:rotfl:
I put an additional 12p into the mortgage pig yesterday.....I am clearing the pig at the end of every month to put into the ISA so I will add that to my sig when I do it rather than have a rolling figure - I know it doesn't make too much difference financially, but mentally, doing something everyday (even if it is only a few pence!) really helps me...
anyhoo..... better get ready for work...late start today so making the most of it....still in bed!!! :TCurrent Mortgage - £66,601  MFW No 74

I can't wait to be able to just sit and relax in there after work and have my morning coffee out there too....bliss :j:j:j
:D:D .....
Put another 84p into the pot yesterday.....all adding up nicely...:T
Not much to report otherwise...just chugging along and keeping my eye on the ball all the time..... am definately winning the battle keeping the rest of the family interested...but not sure how long I will be able to keep that up!!!:rotfl::rotfl:Meal planning this afternoon.....have a really tight food budget at the moment due to my £150 disaster  so will have to be really inventive this month!!!
