Had to google sosmix to find out what it was
sounds like a scrummy dinneram going to throw myself into this with a sense of self belief which will, over time, hopefully turn into a self-fullfilling prophecy
Here's to positive thinking and the knowledge that we can make a difference to anything should we put our mind to it :beer:Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Here's to positive thinking and the knowledge that we can make a difference to anything should we put our mind to it
Oh, I definately second that :T:T:T
I have redone all my budgets now - I know that the additional £795 is going to be a real challenge - I have written a really tight budget which will cover most of my input, but i have to find an additional £57 per month from somewhere and one of my dogs seems to have problems putting on weight so I am trying them on some really expensive cereal free stuff which has increased the cost of keeping them by about £50 per month :eek::eek:
However, it will be worth it just to put my mind at rest....she really is very thin - the vet said that she is in really good shape, but i can't help worry.....its the maternal thing i think!!! :rotfl:
Anyhoo, I am going to pay the balance of my credit card tomorrow - I bought some two lots of gig tickets last month and haven't paid it off yet....:o however, I will clear it and that will free up some spare cash every month which I will use to replenish my sofa fund which had to take a battering to cover some other stuff a while back. Once that is back to its previous level, I will use the cash to cover the additional £57....it shouldn't take too long really (she says hopefully!!!)
I also have an outstanding debt to an oil company....they delivered without it being requested  so we received a reduction and also time to pay the balance:j:j:j:rotfl:total result really! That should be paid off by the end of the summer so I will also be able to add an additional £40 per month to the pig when that happens!!
I know that its a long slog ahead of me.....I have three months to make up for because of my latest escapades but I would really like to have made up the deficit by the end of the year. Its additional pressure, but I am not too worried if it takes 18 months to make it up......I still have 50+ months to sort it if I have too!!Current Mortgage - £66,601  MFW No 74

This post will do exactly what it says...I have been through all my calculations and want to record exactly where I am today as far as my targets are concerned so that I have something to reflect on as I embark once again on my journey...to please excuse my musings and my formatting as I need to be able to see important information quickly!!

When I decided to start seriously saving extra for my mortgage in January 2011, hoping to save £795 per month, I had a mortgage balance of £66,601.43. I had changed to a fixed rate mortgage in July 10 and had been making an overpayment of £183 per month towards my mortgage balance until this point. I had hoped that by July 2011 that I would have an overall overpayment total of £7155 - I haven't.I am £3948 under the total that I wanted to reach by the end of July. I will have the £795 of June and July to put towards it, bringing the figure down - so my final figure will be:
£2390 under overall expected six month target.
That is the result of my falling from the pig
:o .......It has left me with a lot of ground to cover but I know that I will do so one way or the other by the end of 2012. Its important to do and I will monitor it regularly. I will sell what is possible, save wherever possible and make the money up slowly while sticking to the budget and finding the additional money to keep it on track from now on.
I know that I haven't done too badly, I have managed to make £3207 in OP's since I started which is no mean feat considering all of the financial disasters I have had to cope with.....so I have reasons to be proud as well as disappointed!!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Current Mortgage - £66,601  MFW No 74

Good Luck on your mortgage free journey. I am sure you will get there in the end

Good day yesterday....paid off the cc :j applied for a cash isa :money:(thanks martin!!) and put in my expenses at work :T haven't put them in since the beginning of april so am slightly light on the bank balance :eek::eek:
However, when they get paid, i will be able to see where i am financially. I have come to the conclusion that i really don't keep a decent enough track of my money...some months seem to squish into one and i can't remember what i am meant to be doing...:o and sometimes its deliberate.....I think that if I don't know how bad it is then i don't have to worry about it until next payday..... how stupid is that!!! Totally ineffective too.....I still get annoyed about it!! :rotfl:
I have decided that from now on, I am going to put all my petrol expenditure and any additional car expenses on my cc, then pay it off every month when i get my expenses- that way I can keep a proper account of how much my car costs me and if i have any additional cash left over at the end of the year, I will feed the pig!! :j
I will still keep saving my usual amount for the car expenses but will hopefully not need anywhere near as much...;) I am also stopping all the expenditure we have that isn't budgeted for....we have a habit of deciding that we will buy things and just have it absorbed into other areas of the budget. From now on, I have set myself a personal spends limit and once its gone, its gone. Yesterday, I drew the persie cash out and have put it in my purse. Its down to me to decide how long that will last.....I am down to my last packet of fags now, so that will stop me spending ridiculous amounts (the amount I have given myself would be gone fairly quickly if I carried on .....) and I have decided that if i limit the amount of rubbish i buy, it should easily be enough for a month....
I don't want to feel deprived on this journey.... getting the balance right is really important if i am to stick to it so i still want to be able to buy a couple of bottles of wine or go to a gig or pile down the pub for a few bevvies.... otherwise, whats the point of existing???:eek::rotfl::rotfl:
I did an inventory of my cupboards yesterday too....have to do the freezer one today....I also chucked out some really out of date food which has been lurking for a considerable period of time :T....so now i know exactly what i have and have started looking at meal plans to use it all up. I spent £50 yesterday on groceries - basic things like shower gel, hand wash, longlife milks, toothpastes, salad cream and mayo. All were on offer (apart from the milk) so I have saved myself a small fortune in the long run as i would buy them anyway....:D
I will keep £15 per week to buy fresh food....I am growing some veg myself this year so will hopefully not even need that much by the time the summer hits.....and other than that, I don't want to spend anymore unless absolutely necassary on any other food items until i am doing a really good impression of old mother hubbard!! :rotfl::rotfl:
Anyhoo....sorry about the length of this post.....one of the bad points of this journey is i have an uncontrollable desire to talk about it and what i am doing....and the walls are getting desperate for a break.......:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

That's not a bad point; that's the whole point of a diary! We're all on here because we get more motivated when we share what we're up to, and we read each other's diaries because we want to. Thank you for your kind thoughts and words :kisses3:....its nice to have company along for the ride!!!!:D
I have had a really good weekend, we sorted a lot more of the garden - dh laid the remainder of the bricks in the garden (have run out now - really fed up about it as will have to buy more to finish the job :mad: ) while I cleaned the house today.... I only have two more loads of washing to clean, dry and put away and then i have cleaned every room and will be completely up to date with all the washing in my house!!!!:j:j:j I am seriously impressed with myself....I also cooked wraps for dinner - i had an open pack of tortillas, half a punnet of tomatoes, half a pot of yoghurt, some cooked blackeye peas, a lime, some mizuna and pak choi thinnings, a couple of sweet potatoes and an almost dead red chilli. I added a tin of tomatoes, a red onion, some fresh mint and some ground ginger, cinnamon and mace and we had bean and tomato wraps with tomato salsa and mint and yoghurt with spiced sweet potato wedges. Nom nom!!!:D:D:D
Money wise, I have done well - i am really annoyed that i am going to have to buy more bricks but i will just have to take it on the chin...i will get it done eventually and then i will realise its worth it!!!:rotfl:Current Mortgage - £66,601  MFW No 74

You are so inventive with your recipes. I am hopeless at putting ingredients together. I think that is why my food bill is always so high!:o0 -
Well, I am back from my london trip and I managed to spend less than £30!!!:j:j:j
Really impressed with myself for that....its not easy to do there, but i was really careful with what I bought and made sure that I ate the lunch provided so that I didn't need much on an evening..:D
I have maintained my house too.... I have started just doing things as I notice them, so have cleaned the bathroom on my last trip to it and the kitchen when I made my last drink...:A never been so organised in my life!!
I have put a shopping list together for the next couple of weeks, my dd is needing a bit of a nutrition boost so I am going to spend a little more than I expected on food, but I will still use up most of what I have in the house for the rest of the family....
However, I have looked at my bank balance and I am a lot happier than I thought I would be...my expenses have come through, so things are good on that front and my ISA details are currently winging their way to me to enable me to get the money transferred from the pig!!:D:D:DCurrent Mortgage - £66,601  MFW No 74
